“I'm sorry.”Two words and my heart crumbled in pieces.
After so many years of being mistreated, why would he say this when it's too late?
He's dead. This piece of paper will not change anything. The hate that I had built will not soften just because of his apology.
Apology? Does this even count as apology?
It would be better to say this in person than to say this on a piece of paper with lack of sincerity. But even though he's sincere, accepting his apology is not easy.
The trauma will never be erased by a simple apology. It will not treat the wounds I had because of him. He's way too late. If only he treated me right, if only he didn't ruin his life, if only he isn't my father. . . My life would have been less depressing.
“How can I forgive you when damage has been done? You totally ruined my life, my teen, my youth, my everything. I hate you.”
I will continue to hate you but I will love it if you end up suffering even after your death. I wish you suffer the heat in hell, father.
That's my answer.
“Go take this letter with you. This deserves to be on fire.”
