Bambi had started waking up. It was about 7 AM during the middle of summer, where Bambi's harvest looked to be promising.

"Aaahh... ..Morning..." He yawned, stretched a little, and got out of bed eagerly. He liked the work he did. First though, he had to have a healthy breakfast that would get him running. What was this breakfast? Cornflakes, the obvious but Bambi's favorite. He liked just about everything with corn, but that's obvious too. He had coffee, with a bit of sugar and some creamer in so it wasn't too bitter, he never understood how people could like something so bitter.

He finished quite fast, which is somewhat shocking due to his small size. He walked outside, admiring the humid but nice morning. He loved watching the sunrise as he got to work. He grabbed his to-do list. "Let's see here.." Bambi mumbled to himself, looking at the list he had set up for himself yesterday. The list read as following:

WATER PLANTS//

SPRAY PESTICIDES//

LUNCH//

GUARD CORN//

SLEEP//

"..Mmhmm.." Bambi again mumbled to himself, pinning it to his hat with a small corn pin so he wouldn't lose it. He really liked the pin. He grabbed his watering can and pesticide can and got to work, making sure every single individual corn stalk had been watered. He wouldn't stop until they all were.

After he had finished, he sighed, sweat running down the sides of his face. He had a lot more corn than he realized, but that's what he usually thinks everyday. He had a smile on his face though, feeling accomplished. "Maybe I'll take a small break, as a reward.." Bambi said to himself as he sat down at the front of his barn door.

Looking past the gate of his farm, he saw a man in a wheelchair along with what Bambi presumed to be his son. They came by every weekday, probably so the father could take his son to school. But something the small farmer took note of was how the father always had a glance of the farm. Maybe he was just as impressed as Bambi was about it? He wouldn't be suprised.

A little bit later, about 8 minutes after the father had gone by, Bambi had already started spraying his corn with the pesticides. He looked up at his entrance again, and saw the father, this time admiring in front of the gate. Bambi waved, getting the father's attention, and approached. The father appeared to get anxious which made Bambi suspicious, but decided to try to talk to the man.

"Heya!" Bambi said friendly. "A-ah, hello!" The father responded, sounding nervous to be talking right there, almost as if he was gunpoint, Bambi thought to himself. He thought it was pretty silly, but a good comparison to how he was acting. "..Why are you staring so much at my corn..?" The small farmer asked the father. The father took a deep breath, gaining composure. This confused Bambi. Why would you need to do that..? He thought to himself again. "I think your corn farm is really impressive. It looks like you really care for it, it's hard to not admire." The father said with a calm smile.

Bambi's guard immediately dropped, and his eyes widened as his mouth opened a little into a silly shocked expression. "So.. you like my farm too..?" The father chuckled. "I don't see why I wouldn't..!" The farmer was flabbergasted albeit he had expected that response. Nobody had ever complimented or looked at his farm before, especially never when Bambi had been near or outside.

"Well uhh...." Bambi looked down, then back up with his hands in a shrug gesture. "You can look around if you like." The father continued to have a calm smile on his face. "I'd love to!" Bambi started spraying pesticides on his corn as he showed the father around the farm and spots in the corn field that were unique. The father admired everything, which made Bambi happy. He finally had met someone who enjoyed corn as much as he did.

Bambi finished spraying the pesticides as the father followed right behind, about 2 minutes later after the tour offered to help out which Bambi acepted and speeded up the process tremendously. They both were worn out after, sitting in front of the barn next to each other. The father had gotten off his wheelchair to sit next to Bambi and possibly talk. Bambi took off his to-do list and set the pin right next to him. The father looked at Bambi, then the pin, and smiled. "I like the pin!" He huffed. Bambi looked up to the man and smiled back. "Thanks, and thank you for helping out. appreciate it." "You're welcome!"

Bambi looked down at his list, and getting lunch was next. He looked at the father, who was gazing off into the sky. "Well uh.." Bambi said and looked away, whilst trying to get the father's attention. Bambi looked back at him, in which the man did also. "Would you like to go into the barn..? I uh.. Have lunch.. next on my list." The father nodded politely, and got back up on his wheelchair. Both of the men went inside and the man had sat at the log table that was in what he presumed the kitchen. He decided to stay in his wheelchair, as there was only one chair. "Suit yourself," Bambi had said in a joking tone. Bambi had came back in with sandwiches, ham, lettuce, and cheese. Average, but still good.

"Well," Bambi started, "Here ya go..." Bambi paused, then realized he had never gotten the man's name. "What's your name again..?" The man chuckled, and responded. "Dave. My name's Dave." Dave smiled politely after responding. "What's yours?" "Bambi." Dave nodded. "Alright, well, I appreciate the sandwich Bambi!" Bambi snickered, and said you're welcome to Dave. Both of them started eating, Bambi eating the sandwich he had considerably faster than Dave. It made Dave think how a man so small could eat so fast, but he didn't think too hard on it.

Once both Dave and Bambi had finished, Bambi checked back to his list. He made sure he had pinned it back on his hat before they went inside. Bambi looked up at Dave, who was curiously looking back at Bambi. It made Bambi feel something. He wasn't too sure what, maybe just nervousness. He didn't know, and didn't think too hard about it. "Well uh, Dave," Bambi started. "I have to guard my corn for the rest of the day, and something tells me you can't be here all day considering the little guy you have to pick up." Bambi winked playfully with a smirk, and it made Dave feel a little flustered. "Yeah.. I guess I do.. In which, you reminded me.." Dave rolled up his sleeve to check the time on his moderately priced watch, and the time was 2:45. "I guess I have to get going.. Cya later?" "...Wait." Bambi had blurted. He didn't know why. "Huh? Do you need anything else?" Dave had asked curiously. "Do you have a phone number..?" "Oh!" Dave gasped, then smiled. "I do." He pulled out his phone and a little notepad he had in his left pocket, with a small pencil already sharpened and ready to be used in the pencil holder. He wrote down his phone number and tore off the paper, giving it to Bambi. He gave Bambi the notepad and pencil so he could do the same, before Bambi had given them back. "Call me," Bambi had said before Dave wheeled out, both waving at each other. Dave smiled. He felt happy. He had a new friend. But he had to get moving, he had to pick his son up at 3 PM and the time was 2:50.

He'd call Bambi when he got his kid.

He wanted to talk to him as soon as possible.
