The world had been reduced to ruins. The earth was cut into smaller pieces and civilizations crumbled. Cities were left as the skeletons of what they once were as a result of the several devastating earthquakes at the beginning of the chaos. Pieces of land and buildings slowly floated into the inky void of space where the clear blue sky had initially been. In addition to the destruction of forests by earthquakes and flames from the land's intense heat, oceans flooded and swallowed anything unfortunate enough to be caught up in them. All life had been wiped out on the destroyed planet. It would take hundreds of years before the Earth would piece itself together and anything could grow again on the devastated planet. Even then, there was still the problem of living conditions. Many of the continents that had once held a thriving culture were now barren wastelands covered in ash and dead grass. But, in the end, there was one certain thing; it was all over, all over for the Earth.
Vivian watched over the arid ruin as she sat on the remains of a building that had managed to remain grounded. She was partially covered in blood but it wasn't her own. Only the faint howling of the wind filled the air as she stared down at the cracked ground below. And though they assumed that she would be alone, she soon would be joined by another.
"Heyyy," A cheery voice spoke behind Vivian which caused them to snap out of their thoughts. She turned to look at the newcomer with a frown. "What do you want, Nikolai?" She asked, not bothering to hide the bitterness in her tone. Nikolai returned her gaze with a grin, his blue eyes shining as his other individual eyes on his cheek, neck, and collarbone eyed them. "Aw, is that really how you should greet your buddy? I just came to check on your progress." He observed their surroundings. "You've done quite the damage, I'm impressed." "I just cut the Earth into pieces, that's all." Vivian mused while getting up. "Just decided to go for a more destructive approach this time. There's no point in staying here anymore." Nicolai nodded. "Agreed. Very well," he took out a small note written in an alien language and handed it to them. "When you're done with this world, just head back to the void for your next instructions."
Vivian took the note and looked at it but before she could say anything, Nicolai vanished just as she looked up. They frowned, shoving the note into her pocket. She took one last look around the desolate place before she reached up and flicked the gem dangling from her earring. The gem's color faded as a portal appeared beside her before she turned and walked into it, leaving the destroyed world behind.
