Chapter 8.

*****

Earlier Before Zaid's Arrival.

At The Rasheed's

Yusra bint Al-Rasheed Stood in front of a huge closet, stretching as far as she could get, trying to reach for a large duvet from the top shelf of the wardrobe. She was preparing the guest rooms for their visitors from Dubai UAE, a neighboring country. Their arrival was impromptu so she had to organize the guestrooms, along with two of their housemaids.

One of the maids, Arushi, was Indian, she couldn't speak Arabic nor did she understand English. It was a bit frustrating to communicate with her using somewhat funny sign language. Yusra gave a disgruntled sigh as Arushi could barely understand her instruction when she gestured for her to put the pillows in their cases.

She caught a glimpse of the other maid, suppressing a laugh at their expense, and just when she was about to exit the room she gave a startled squeal when Jamila came into view wearing a green cosmetic face mask that made her look like an alien at first glance. Yusra, now fueled with annoyance, glared at her sister, and Jamila stifled a smile upon realizing how she had frightened her sister. She let herself into the room as she decided to assist Yusra and the maids to hasten up the process.

"Do you mind if I join you?" She said with a mischievous smile, as she walked up to the dressing table to place her phone there.

"I don't remember letting you in," Yusra demanded, tracing her steps back to the wardrobe with her back to the girls.

"I figured you might need my help."

"I didn't hear you coming, and don't you ever scare me like that again."She finished saying and Jamila couldn't help laughing at the look on Yusra's face and how for once, she was creasing a sore brow at her.

"I thought my steps were too loud. I had to be very quiet so I don't scare everyone." Yusra gave a huge eye roll upon hearing her lame alibi.

"Where have you been? I was with Mother a while ago and she was looking for you, but you were nowhere to be found."

"I was in the neighbour's, along with Kafilah and Kawlah." She decided to take both her childhood friends and cousins out for a walk, showing them around the neighborhood. "Omaya was looking everywhere for me, why?" Jamila raised a curious brow.

"Umma needed your help in the kitchen?" Yusra informed her and she gave a sheepish smile, understanding what that meant.

"Are we having Majboos for breakfast?"Jamila's eyes lit up.
