It was nighttime in South Korea as Jaehyun took a step off his private jet. The first thing he noticed was the sharp cold air. Second was the smell. Korea smelled less polluted than New York.
Xiaojun had accompanied him and bowed slightly, passing Jaehyun a trench coat. Jaehyun slid it on and walked confidently down the strip to a taxi that was waiting for him. He got inside and rolled down the window. Xiaojun wouldn't be accompanying him tonight. He was gonna rest here for one night before taking the next flight back home to New York.
Jaehyun gave a short wave back as the taxi drove off, where his hotel was waiting for him. Jaehyun breathed aloud, watching the city lights of Korea race by, making its way onto the highway to Busan. He was really doing this. Jaehyun's mind flashed back to the last thing his father had told him before he boarded the jet.
'Do this right, is all I'm asking you. It isn't hard. And, if it all goes as plan without your usual fuckups, I'll let you see Andy.'
Jaehyun's eyes widened.
'You know where Andy is?'Jaehyun's dad snorted, 'Why wouldn't I'?
'Because you always acted like you were clueless about the whole thing and you had no clue.'
His father chuckled, 'My boy, there isn't a Goddamn thing I don't know about all of you. I know everything but each and every single one of you kids. Nothing gets past me'. He looked at Jaehyun sternly, 'I mean it'.
Jaehyun sighed. 'At least tell me why you want this man dead'.
And, for the first time in Jaehyun's life, his dad seemed... uncomfortable? 'Just... because...'
Jaehyun frowned. That wasn't a straight answer. 'Dad, that literally makes no sense. There has to be a reason and I'm not gonna kill no one before I know why'.
His father's eyes flared with anger, he raised his hand, slapping Jaehyun's face to the side. Jaehyun staggered, holding his cheek.
'Last time I checked, I'm the adult. I'm your parent and you're not mine. When I tell you to do something, you fucking do it. I don't have to explain shit to you.'
He watched as Jaehyun straightened back up, then said, 'I wish I could explain but I can't. But trust me, It'll save our family a headache and make things easier for me and your brothers.'He placed a hand on Jaehyun's shoulder, his eyes seemingly pleading, 'Please Jaehyun. I'm begging you.'
'Please...'
Jaehyun shook his head. Whatever the reason, he knew he had to just get this done, no matter how much he despised the thought. He focused his mind on the sights outside. It took him a second to realize that they were now in Busan. He felt the car slow down as people started walking in front of it. The sights and sounds were utterly amazing. The last time he had been to South Korea, he had been very young so he didn't remember much. He knew his mother was Korean and she was born in Seoul. Maybe while he was here, he'd get the chance to catch up with her.
The car slowed down to 15 mph and Jaehyun saw a young man singing on the street. A few fangirls held up their phones, bright LED words flashing across the screens. Jaehyun was sorta surprised he could still read Korean. One of the screens said, "You're my moon! I'll be your star"... Jaehyun smirked to himself. It was sweet but he had no idea what that was supposed to mean. Based off what the song was about, he seemed to be singing about... Starlight.
Cute.
The car slowly rode by what seemed to be an underground club. They stopped briefly in front of the entrance as crowds of people pushed out and flooded into the road, in front of the taxi. Jaehyun watched as a few girls dressed scarcely turned, looking over their shoulders at him. They flipped their hair and giggled to themselves. Jaehyun smiled softly. It's been a while since he had a night out with anyone. If he had time, he had to make sure to get in a quick one before heading back home.
The car began to move a little more and started at a good 20mph. They turned on a side street, the signs for the hotel getting nearer. That's when Jaehyun spotted something out his window, though it was brief. A man lying on the ground in an alleyway. Jaehyun's eyebrows furrowed.
Is he okay? he thought.
Jaehyun gestured for the taxi driver to stop. The taxi stopped, "What's wrong sir"?
Jaehyun pointed off into the alleyway. "That man right there... Is he okay?"
The taxi driver leaned back, trying to get a view into the side street. "Oh. No, yeah. That's normal in Korea. You get alot of drunk people passed out on the side of the road. It's best if you just ignore them and continue on your way. You don't know if he's a violent drunk. He could hurt you."Jaehyun nodded, that was true. But still, something inside of him was telling him to investigate. Without saying another word, he opened up the car door and walked over to the man. Jaehyun grabbed out his smartphone, turning on the flashlight and aiming the light into the alleyway. He stood next to the man, giving him a kick in the leg. "Sir... Sir are you okay?" The man was unresponsive.
Jaehyun stooped down, getting a good look at the man's face. He looked young but had to be a little older than himself. And good-looking too. Jaehyun tapped him on the shoulder. "Sir... Sir, it's late you should get home." The man didn't move. Jaehyun felt his heart drop. He got down on his knees, placing a finger under the man's nose. Just as he suspected.
The man was barely breathing.
"Shit!", Jaehyun swore. He laid his head on the man's chest but his heartbeat was faint. This man must've been drugged. Jaehyun held his tongue from cursing aloud again.
Just what I fucking needed.
Without a second's hesitation, he hoisted the man onto his shoulder in a fireman's carry and carried him to the taxi, placing him inside on the seat. The taxi driver's eyes widened but didn't say anything. Jaehyun closed the car door and got into the passenger's seat. He nodded his head, "Take me to the hotel please". Then the car took off...
Minutes later, they arrived. Jaehyun thanked the driver, paying him extra for the trouble, then grabbed the man out from the backseat. Jaehyun wrapped his arm around his shoulders to keep him standing, then together they made their way into the hotel. Together, they took the elevator and he swiped his keycard at the door. His dad owned this hotel, as a front for their real business, so no questions were asked. The staff members have seen their fair share of weird shit up in here.
Closing the door behind him with his foot, Jaehyun walked over to the bed, laying the man down on it. He held his nose. The dude reeked of alcohol. Jaehyun took off his trenchcoat and suit jacket, tossing them to the side. He rolled up his shirt sleeves, his muscles tight against the white fabric. He grabbed hold of the man's head and leaned his head against Jaehyun's chest as he pulled off the man's coat. He then undid three buttons on the man's shirt. Then proceeded to remove his shoes and socks.
Once he was done, he sighed heavily. He let the man's head drop back onto the bed, propping it up under a pillow. Jaehyun walked over to the bathroom, grabbing one of the washcloths on the shelf. He dampened it with some cool water then walked over to the man, wiping away the sweat on his forehead, cheeks and collarbone. Jaehyun slowly took in the man's beauty. This man definitely had good looks. He assumed the man had women swarming him from left and right.
Jaehyun chuckled. He knew what that was like.
Once Jaehyun was finished, he stood up. He tossed the rag in a basin that stood in the corner. He grabbed the man's coat and something fell from the pocket.
He picked it up. It was a wallet.Jaehyun opened it curiously. Inside was a picture of him and a beautiful woman. He smiled. Probably his girlfriend. He snooped around some more and found a teacher's ID. Jaehyun started nodding in respect. "So he's a teacher?" he said aloud. He read the name on the ID.
He looked over at the man lying in bed. But one thought kept circling his mind.
Who are you and what did you do to get drugged...
Kim Doyoung.
