When Big Ben first received a word from a building it had never heard from before, it was sceptical. What if this building was a threat? Nonetheless, Big Ben responded with a, "Hello, who is this?" The response was immediate, "Oh, right. I'm the Empire State Building." A gasp. Big Ben was shocked. The Empire State Building? The one from the United States? Since when was talking across borders a thing? Are they going to get in trouble? Knocked down?

After calming down and stopping the thoughts from racing at 70mph, Big Ben cautiously responded, "We aren't supposed to be talking to each other." Silence. The Empire State Building couldn't think of what to say. Yes, that was true. But it couldn't get Big Ben out it's head all day.

"Yes, I know. But I saw you on a building and I wanted to say that..." Started the Empire State Building. "Say what?" Questioned Big Ben. "I wanted to say that... your new blue tint is..."
"Oh come on just say it!" Exclaimed an increasingly irritated Big Ben. "YOUR NEW BLUE TINT LOOKS NICE!" The Empire State Building rushed out.

Compliments like that from buildings across seas aren't just casual. Big Ben knew this. But it wasn't about to let the Empire State Building know that it knew this. "Oh, thank you." Big Ben responded, trying to remain calm, "I like your deep windows, I could stare at them all day, well I would if I could." Oh no, Big Ben only realised what it said after it came out. That was way too forward. Maybe if it didn't comment on it, the Empire State Building wouldn't notice?

The Empire State Building knew what was going on. Of course it did. It wasn't stupid. They both knew. However, the also both knew that nothing could ever happen between them. The belonged to different countries. They could never be near each other. They could never even see each other. If only they lived in the same place.
