Waking up in my bedroom is comforting, smelling the wood is almost nostalgic. Suddenly, a loud knock on the door makes me spring up and hit my head. Quickly, I get up and run to the door, but it opens before I can.
"Y/N."
This is my father, James Madison. He is a politician alongside Thomas Jefferson, the current President. He quickly hands me a towel, and starts walking away, looking at me over his shoulder.
"Get washed up. We're going into town, then to Montechello."
"Is mother coming with?"
"No. She's going out with Elizabeth Hamilton and her daughter."
"Why can't I go with her?"
"I won't allow it. That bastard's son will be there, too."
My mother's name is Dolly Madison. Her and my father haven't been on good terms lately, which is why he wants his only child by his side. Though I wish I could actually go with my mother like other girls my age.
I snatched the towel from his hands and pushed him out the way. Running through the house and into the bath, and cleaning up. Once I was done, I went back up into my room and changed into one of my dresses. This wasn't an occasion to wear my favorite dress.
I haven't introduced myself yet. Hello! My name is Y/N Madison. As you could probably tell, I'm the daughter of James and Dolly Madison. Currently, I'm 19 years old, and my father is too protective for someone my age. I just want to have the same life as every other girl my age. I want to go out, hang out with my friends, and be able to date. But my father has been trying to arrange a marriage for me so I don't act rashly.
"Are you ready yet?" My father yells up the stairs
"Yes, I am!"
I quickly put on my shoes and ran down the stairs. Once I got out the front door, my father looked at my outfit and shook his head.
"Hm. Decent. Get in the carriage."
I glared at him and walked past him, ignoring his hand to help me up. It's elegant, I promise. A trend. He scoffed and got in, sitting in silence on our way to town...
