[Twistedkit's POV]
"Well?" ||• Twistedkit waited for Flameclaw to answer, but the only thing that came out of the tom's mouth was a low laugh. •|| "Nosy much, don't you think?" ||• Flameclaw smirked. •|| "From what I know, a kit's job is to play around with the other kits and not worry about what the warriors are doing." ||• The gray tom explained. •|| "I-I'm barely a kit anymore! I'm almost an apprentice!" ||• The brown tom protested. •|| "Watch your tone. Remember you're speaking to the future deputy of RainClan." ||• Flameclaw grinned. Twistedkit felt like the tom purposely said 'future deputy', only to recall back to the former deputy Cedarstreak, just to hurt him. Twistedkit didn't continue the conversation and walked back to his clanmates with his head hanging low, and continued sitting vigil for his father. •||
[Moonkit's POV] ||• It had almost been a moon since Cedarstreak's death and things weren't looking too good for RainClan. Small groups of rogues kept attacking RainClan's patrols and this was weakening the clan. Brackenstar, RainClan's leader, became more and more worried about the situation and thought about what to do. He was in his den with Brightflower, Featherlilac, Moonkit and Twistedkit, talking about the future of the toms. •|| "An attack from the rogues might come soon and we need more warriors and experienced apprentices. I've decided that Moonkit and Twistedkit shall become apprentices." ||• The leader explained. •|| "Finally!" ||• Moonkit thought, as he nudged Twistedkit cheekily. No more spending time in the nursery! They could finally go in the forest alone! •|| "We'll have the ceremony right away." ||• The red striped tom said, as he left the den, and was followed by the two queens. Moonkit and Twistedkit didn't follow them immediately, so that they could talk a bit. •|| "You heard him! We'll be apprentices at last!" ||• Twistedkit said excitedly. •|| "Yeah... but remember Brackenstar said that we'll have to start training immediately and also fight in the battle. Is it really worth it?" ||• Moonkit asked thoughtful. •|| "Of course it is, mouse-brain! Just think about kicking those rogues out of the forest and becoming heroes of the clan! Or would you rather hide in the nursery and watch our clanmates die?" ||• The brown kit asked. He was proving a point. Moonkit thought for a second, and finally nodded. •|| "That's true." ||• He agreed. Maybe the other kits would finally stop making fun of him and actually see that's he's important to the clan. •|| "Now come on, let's go to our ceremony!" ||• Twistedkit nudged his friend in front, and they both left the den and headed for the Leader's Rock. •|| "Cats of RainClan!" ||• Brackenstar called out, and the cats started approaching the Leader's Rock. •|| "Since the rogues are becoming more and more of a threat to our clan, I've decided that Moonkit and Twistedkit will become apprentices. Daisyivy will be Moonpaw's mentor and Darktail will be Twistedpaw's mentor." ||• Brackenstar said. Moonpaw looked at the cats that started shouting his and Twistedpaw's names, feeling proud of himself. It was finally time to prove the others wrong, to prove that he was no longer the scared and weird kit, but that he will help defeat those raggedy rogues. It was time to defend RainClan! •||
