An array of emotions were flying through the air, creating a tension thick enough you could cut it with a piece of paper.
Gon and the other applicants were all sitting in the auditorium, listening to Present Mic yell everything he was explaining. It kind of hurt Gon's ears, but it wasn't too bad. He could deal with it. Present Mic wasn't using his quirk.
He yelled even louder and Gon winced a little. A nice person sitting next to him made sure he was okay before returning their attention back to Present Mic.
He didn't have to sit through too much longer before they were all sent off to the practical exam. It was going to take place in fake cities. The school had a bunch of them.
The amount of money this school had was insane. Nobody could deny that. Even the number one hero, All Might, who was probably the richest person in this world, couldn't deny it.
The gates slowly started to open and Gon tuned everyone else out. The second the gates were open enough that he could fit through easily, Gon was gone. Everyone started yelling at him that they weren't allowed to go yet.
"THERE ARE NO COUNTDOWNS IN REAL BATTLES!!" Mic's booming voice cried out over the speakers. Gon already had a head start when the other applicants started running.
He hit a bunch of two and three pointers, racking up points as quickly as he could while also trying to get as far away from the entrance as he could. That way he didn't have to worry about others getting hurt.
Even if people got hurt, UA had Recovery Girl on their side. They had researched everything they could about UA and the staff in preparation. She would be good to have, but wouldn't be easy to turn.
Gon was about a ten minute's walk from the gates when he started to get more serious. He ruthlessly took down the robots, having fun all the while. He stopped keeping track of the points after a while.
It was too much math to do in his head, and he wanted to focus on destroying these robots. There was a loud boom and a giant robot appeared, it had a great big ZERO written on it.
This was going to be fun. Gon rushed over to it before anybody else could, using his full strength rock on it. The thing practically went flying backwards. Man this was fun.
Once the exam was over, Recovery Girl went around and healed those that were most injured. They were there for a while before they were dismissed to go home. Gon was satisfied.
The amount of fighting he got to do today made all the waiting worth it. He found Killua at the gates, seeming to be arguing with a security guard.
"Sir, I'm sorry, but no loitering, I'm going to have to ask you to leave."
"Liste-"
"I'm sorry sir, he was waiting for me, we'll be leaving now," Gon cut Killua off before he got them kicked out. Gon told Killua all about the testing while the pair walked home, not realizing they were being followed.
It took them a bit to react once they both realized it, they gave each other a look and started scaling the nearest buildings on opposite sides of the street. They both started hopping from roof to roof in opposite directions.
It was one of the staff from UA, a hero course teacher. Shota Aizawa. An underground hero whose hero name was Eraserhead. He could cancel quirks out. Best to avoid him.
He seemed to be surprised by their sudden reaction, and ended up chasing after Gon. He was fast, Gon had to give him that, but not fast enough. Though it wasn't really worth it to run for forever.
"What do you want?" Gon asked loudly while still jumping from roof to roof, having a little fun. He was doing a few flips and tricks to see if he could shake the hero off.
