"We were once a peaceful race of intelligent, mechanical beings. But then came the war between the Autobots, who fought for freedom, and the Decepticons, who dreamt of tyranny. Overmatched and outnumbered, our defeat was all but certain. But in the war's final days, one Autobot ship escaped the battle. It was carrying a secret cargo, which would have changed our planet's fate. A desperate mission. Our final hope. A hope that vanished."

"Abi?" Onyxia called from outside the girl's door. She gently knocked upon the door for added notification before she opened her sister's door. Abigail wasn't exactly her biological sister, but after living with her and the Lennox's for three years, she had grown attached to the family.

Abigail was sitting on her bed messing with her hair, muttering and mumbling as she pulled bunches from her hair and sighed. "I wanted to keep my hair," she said quietly before she shook her head dismissively.

"I got you an early birthday present," Onyxia spoke, holding up a carefully decorated bag for her sister to take. Abigail got up from her bed and took the bag gingerly. She looked at Onyxia with a raised brow before reaching into the bag and pulling out numerous wigs.

"What?! Nyx!! These are so expensive, god, thank you so much!" Abigail cried joyously, embracing her sister. "You really didn't have to do this!" She had spent three birthdays with Onyxia now, and each one was better than the last with her. Having a big sister was just what she needed to get through the last few years of her life. That and they were both on the last few years of their life too, so it always made her feel better knowing that Onyxia knew and understood how she felt. While Onyxia's situation was much more...different than Abigail's, the feelings those events brought upon them due to the consequences were very much the same.

"That's not the only gift!" Onyxia said with a giggle. In came Abigail's Aunt, Grace. The birthday girl squealed and leapt into Grace's arms. With that, Onyxia left the two alone to chat and headed downstairs to greet Sarah, Anna, and Will.

"Morning, Will," Onyxia greeted the man who was just about to leave for work.

"Nyx! How'd you sleep?" Will asked her with a warm smile. He walked up to her and gave her a hug.

"I think you know," she replied with a sigh. He opened his mouth to speak once more but Abigail's phlegmy coughing interrupted them. He hurried to his daughter, who was stopped on the stairs and holding onto the railing for dear life. Onyxia frowned, watching the girl who was not getting better as the days passed. If anything, it was worse. She had been with the girl for three years, watching her as she suffered from metastatic lung cancer. Abigail was brave enough to agree to the continued treatment of her cancer, but everyone--even her--knew that it was only prolonging the inevitable. Onyxia could see how it broke Will with every passing second, he just never showed it. The Lennox family was the bravest family she had ever had the honour of knowing.

"Abi's alright, Will," Onyxia said softly. "Head to work, tell Optimus and Bee that I love them both. Grace and I will look after her."

"Yep!" Grace chimed in, eliciting a smile from Abigail. Will sighed, but nodded at the two women. With a firm hug, he left Abigail and walked out the door.

"Let the early birthday celebrations begin!" Abigail cheered.

"Checkmate!" Onyxia yelled, jumping onto her feet from the couch as she knocked over Grace's King. Abigail laughed delightfully and clapped her hands.

"My turn, my turn! I'll beat her for you, Aunt Grace," she giggled, readying the chessboard just as Onyxia got a message from Sam, asking her to call him. The girl excused herself and opened the Phone app on her phone, which opened to her recent calls--something she was not pleased to see. Over fifty calls from Sam in the last week. She tapped Sam's contact harshly.

"What now?" she snapped into the phone as Sam picked up the call. "I swear to God if it's about my sparklings, I'm going to crucify you."

"I-I can't deal with them anymore, Onyx. I can't. I can't train them, can't have a decent conversation with them. They're like children but worse!" Sam rambled, pausing as he thought over his next words. "Will you take them back?"

"I live with the Lennox's, Sam. I don't know if you know what Will does, but he fights with and against Cybertronians. I am sure he is sick of them by now."

"He brings Ironhide to his place every day after his shifts!"

"That has nothing to do with it! Abigail and Ironhide are friends! Of course, Will's going to give her a good life while he still can! And what about Sarah, huh? That poor woman goes through enough as it is."

"C-Can you just think about it? Talk to me tomorrow." Sam hung up before Onyxia could say another word. She groaned, throwing her head into her hands.

"You okay, Nyx?" Abigail asked the woman softly, tilting her head to the side as she saw her furrow her eyebrows. "Sam again?"

"He wants me to take Brains and Wheelie," Onyxia explained as she collapsed onto the couch.

"Using my parents as excuses, huh?"

"N-No! They're genuine concerns!"

"Don't want them here then?" Grace asked.

"I want them here," Onyxia replied, visibly slumping. "I'm just...not who I used to be when I raised them, you know? There's nothing worse than loved ones not appreciating or understanding you anymore. Brains is...a different kind of sparkling compared to Wheelie. More critical and analytical." And judgemental. She loved Brains just as much as Wheelie, but he was very critical of her decisions. He was more like a stern father than her own child.

"Well, I'm more than happy to have them over here," Abigail said with a wide smile. "They're your family after all! They deserve a better family than Sam, who doesn't seem to like them." She giggled.

"Okay, I'll call him," Onyxia sighed, but a smile made its way on her face regardless.

"In the years since our arrival, our new home, Earth, has seen much change. Energon detectors guard its cities now. Long-range defence systems watch the skies. So now we assist our allies in solving human conflicts, to prevent mankind from bringing harm to itself. We work in secret teams on various missions around the globe. And all the while, we search for signs of our true enemies' return."
