I wake up, looking around. This isn't my room I thought. With blurry vision I notice trees and sand around me. I start to feel a pounding in my head and an ache in my leg.
The better my vision got the more stuff I saw. My brain then focused on the white pieces of a plane and bodies. Where was I?
-Wednesday, 11 december-
I wake up to the sound of an annoying alarm which I immediately switched off. I started getting ready for school but my mind was occupied with something else. Our school trip.
Today we were going to talk about the details such as what we're going to take with us in our backpacks, what's the seating plan in the plane, etc.
We were leaving on Friday 13 at 7am to Thailand. To say I was excited was an understatement. This was going to be my last class trip in high school and I got to spend 7 days with my friends and classmates.
As I walk down the stairs wearing a simple hoodie and leggings, I hear my name being called.
"Serena, breakfast is ready." My mother yelled from downstairs.
"Coming" I said with my phone in my hand texting my friends. Everyone from my friend group was coming except Ilayda who had a stomach bug. Oh what a blessing in disguise.

-After school-
"So what do you need to bring? We can make a quick stop at the grocery store to buy anything else you need for the trip." She said, in the car picking me up from school.
"Mr. Del said we need to bring extra food just in case, an extra pair of clothing in case our luggage gets lost, phone, chargers, basically all of the essentials."
"Alright. This will be the first time you're going overseas without me! Please be safe." She said driving to the nearest grocery store.
