ONE

With a paper bag full of groceries, Himuro tries his best to make his way back to his house without causing too much of a hassle. The bustling streets of Tokyo are something that reminded him of America more than of Japan. Unlike peaceful Akita, Tokyo's nightlife has more to offer – the lights are blindingly flashy, most establishments are still open, and that people are still around the streets as much as it was during the day.

The raven-haired male finally makes his way around the residential areas. Checking that all of the contents of the bag are still there and secure, he pushes onto going back to where he is staying at Tokyo.

Eighteen year-old Himuro Tatsuya is back at Tokyo after a while. The last time that he visited was to go around sightseeing since his return to Japan around a year ago. He is reminded that instead of sightseeing, he went to play basketball instead. He is back here with that reason.

After watching Team Strky getting pummeled by Team Jabberwock at street basketball on national television, Kagetora Aida, the man who made the bet with the American team, called the Generation of Miracles for the rematch game. That meant Murasakibara was called. Upon hearing that the team also needed reserve players, Himuro insisted that he join the purple-haired center to Tokyo.

Unfortunately, when they got there, he was told that there is already a reserve player who is a shooting guard. Moreover, he heard that Kagami was going to be in the team together with Kuroko. He has already told himself and his brother that he is going to support him all the way, but he can't help but feel a pang in his heart.

Despite that, he tells himself that it shouldn't bring him down. He promises to contribute in all the ways that he can in order for them to beat the American team. He relayed all of the information he knew about Team Jabberwock and its players to Momoi, and usually goes out to buy their supplies for them.

As Himuro is walking home, he hears a muffled cry. He immediately detects it – finding its source at the nearest alley. He darts straight to it, and finds two figures warped in the shadows.

He drops his things and calmly approaches the two. His vision of them grows clearer and clearer – he sees one man held against the wall, and another one with cornrows strangling the other. Suddenly, a wave of nostalgia hits him.

The raven-haired male remains calm. He always told himself to keep a cool head and a hot heart. Fighting spirit is needed, but it is useless without rational thinking. Rational thinking is needed, but it is useless without fighting spirit.

He places his hand atop of the man with cornrows. But before the other could react, Himuro immediately frees the strangled man. With all of his strength, he forces a distance from the hands to the neck and then breaks the assaulter's fingers. He finishes with a strong kick in the stomach to push him away. The strangled man falls to the ground, hastily chasing his breath. Himuro drags him away from the attacker, to the sidewalks, and lets him lean on the wall to compose himself.

Little did he know that the attacker recovered quickly. He kicks Himuro from the side as he fixes the man to the wall. The raven-haired male was thrown off a few meters away from the strangled man.

The attacker completely ignores the man he was strangling earlier, thinking that he already got his wallet. He senses him running away for dear life, probably to call for the police. He had around 5 minutes to play around with this guy.
