Kim Dokja PoV:

It had been an unseen scenario: one which had not been in the original novel, for we had stumbled upon it by chance- but it was a relatively simple one at that.

We had been split into three rooms, each seperated by glass. One in the middle, with a viewing room in front- currently occupied by Yoo Joonghyuk- and another, smaller waiting room, in which we'd been crowded into.

The walls were a plain, washed-out white, and the flickering yellowish lights reminded me of my old office. Whoever formed the scenario had a rather bland taste, then, and after testing how thin the walls were, I decided we wouldn't need to worry. The constellation had enough probability to start it, but whatever was left over shouldn't be too much of a threat. Besides, we've already faced a similar thing with the spectres, so we should be fine.

As predicted, it didn't take long.

Lee Gilyoung relived the death of his mother back on the train cart, Lee Hyunsung saw a portion of his old army days, and so on- but nobody shed any more than a few tears. It was surprisingly satisfying to watch, seeing how far we'd come- everyone seemed so much stronger now than they had been before. I felt oddly proud.

Before long, I was the only one left in the dingy waiting room. I turned to stare expectantly at the thick glass window leading out.

"..and last, we have Kim Dokja," Yoo Joonghyuk sighed, the glass now parting to let me through. I muster a grin, feeling rather confident in my 4th wall as I get up and step in. The kids offered a little cheer, as if they knew I'd be done in a flash. Which I will be. I add a little skip to my last step, for their sakes.

Joonghyuk's hand hovered over the button to begin the viewing, "any specific fears we should be expecting?" He sounded almost like a tired gym teacher, keenly (or, as far as I can assume based off his blank face) waiting for the scenario to finally hurry up and end. I straighten my back, now stuffing my hands into my pockets with a confident hum, "not that I know of~"

The sunfish scowled in response to my cocky grin, now slamming the button with his fist.

A jolt of electricity shot through my veins, making the thin hairs on my neck stand on end.

...wait, what?

My eyes blew wide as a sudden wave of nausea tugged at my stomach, offering a painful twist as the room went dark. I couldn't see the others. I turned, heart suddenly pounding as a familiar scene shuddered into view. Normally I'd be fine, but seeing this here without a wall between the two of us, I felt oddly small, perhaps vulnerable.
