Thirteen sat down and watched the ocean on chicken island. She was supposed to repay him with a date, but it seems that he was late .
"Why am I even here.." She sighed in defeat. She always kept her promises, but this wasn't one.
She didn't promise him a date.. she agreed to it. Does this count as one?
She's never felt love for years from when her mother died. She knew that nothing could bring her back.
Dying of boredom, she decided to braid her hair. Her mother used to do it for her, but she grew up to do it herself.
She heard footsteps and looked back. That idiotic hairstylist finally came. How much time has it been? 30? 45 minutes?
"Mei xiaojie!" Seven came running up to her in his usual white sweater and shorts. But then he tripped and fell.
Thirteen was unfazed by him. He soon got up and started walked to her. She noticed one of hands behind him.
Thirteen sighed in defeat. Owing him her life, this Is the least she could do.
An awkward silence was held. But of course, Seven broke it. "I'm surprised you didn't leave." He said as he sat down next to her.
"That was an option?" She said, raising one eyebrow. "Didn't you want to do this?" He responded back.
"This is the least I could do besides blood debt." She said. Still not trusting him, she held suspicions about what was behind his back.
"If you're wondering what that is," He said, pulling out a bouquet of flowers. "Here." He said.
Thirteen noticed that he wasn't his 'idiotic' self like he usually is. Though she did find it a bit cute .
What an idiotic thought.
She stared at the bouquet of flowers. "If you're wondering if I'm gonna take it, I'm not gonna." Thirteen said.
"Come onnn.. they're begonias!" Seven said as he nudged her. "Don't touch me." She said annoyingly.
"Well.. I guess you don't want these super expensive flowers I saved up foorrr.." he said, trying to guilt trip her.
"Consider it a waste of money, then." She said. He sighed in defeat.
"Well, come on! I have this super cool place to show you." Seven said. They both stood up and Thirteen followed behind him.
Seven still took the flowers with him, hoping to ask her later and she'll take it. A date with a super cute girl?? He considered himself lucky!
Seven led Thirteen to his salon. "Here we are!" He said. Thirteen was puzzled. Was this for a haircut? Is this a joke?
"Come on to the rooftop!" He said as he walked to a staircase behind his salon. When Seven walked up the stairs and on to the roof, Thirteen was already there.
"I don't even want to know." He said under his breath.
"Why did you lead me to an obnoxious, dirty place?" Thirteen said with a blank expression on her face.
"It's not! Anyway, since the sun is setting, we wait for nighttime." Seven said. "And why?" Thirteen asked.
"All the lights in chicken island come on, it'll be cool. Trust me." Seven said. Thirteen just sighed.
"I have things to do." Thirteen said. "Can I go now?" She said.
She didn't want to be alone any longer with this nuisance. "Just a chance! You owe me a lot already, right?" Seven said. Thirteen looked at Seven. "I guess I can wait. But after the lights, I'm off." Thirteen responded.
He nodded in a happy gesture and they both waited. And waited, and waited...
It was nighttime and Seven has almost fallen asleep. Though, Thirteen was wide awake. She's thought to give this a chance and deal with it and go.
But why? Why did she consider staying? Maybe she actually found the certain hairstylist comfortable.
Before she knew it, Seven fell asleep on her shoulder. "Get off." She said in a stern voice. She decided to let us slide.
After a few moments, a light came on, then another. They came on, one by one.
Thirteen shook Seven and he woke up. Did she let him sleep on her shoulder? He scooted away from embarrassment and looked at all the lights.
"See? Wasn't it worth it?" Seven said. Thirteen looked at all the lights and the small amount of people walking from place to place.
"I guess so." She said, her eyes beamed at the sight of the lights. The signs were stupid, but she was kind of comforted by the lights.
"So.." He said. "Are you gonna take these?" He said, pulling out the flowers and handed them to her. She looked at it for a few seconds and thought.
"Thanks." She said. She took the flowers and placed them beside her.
He smiled and they both were quiet. Thirteen then stood up, taking the flowers. "Why so soon?" He said.
"Busy." She replied back. "Bye, Mei!" He said. "Don't call me nicknames." She said. He laughed it off. She looked forward and smiled before leaving.
