𝐭ú𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐤 𝐥𝐞 𝐥í𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬
pushing limits

–––

"Gabor! Chukik!"

The eldest prince turned around, his eyes widening as he spotted a ball heading towards his direction, behind it, the mischievous grins of his friends.

Impishly smiling back at his companions, Gabor caught the item, his hand on his hip as the ball was in his other hand.

"Ma'alo'ob intento, Bembe," Gabor chuckled, tossing the ball back. "But my schedule's a little busy today."

Bembe groaned, the two other boys beside Bembe rolling their eyes slightly. Gabor scoffed, crossing his arms, the wings on his ankles fluttering in impatience.

"Got a problem, Bembe?"

"You're always a little busy'," Bembe huffed. "You need to learn how to calm down a little. I think you're just a little high-strung, and you're pushing your limit. Ever since–"

"I get what you mean, Bembe," Gabor cut his friend off, not needing the reminder of what he had lost.

There was a silence between the two as the first-born prince held the ball, unaware of the small frown on his face. But before his friend could apologise, the prince perked up, tossing the ball back to the other male.

"But the kingdom still needs to move along. My father just needs more help now, and I'm willing to work as hard as I can so that he doesn't have to overstrain."

"Okay then," Bembe trailed off, the round item in his hands, placing one of his hands on Gabor's shoulder.

"But if you ever want to hang out to unwind, ts'o'ok a wojel tu'ux kaxtik in."

Gabor smiled softly at his friend, nodding as he pulled away, the others placing their hands together in a clam shape as they touched it to their foreheads. Their sign of respect.

The prince returned their action, giving Bembe a smile once more.

"Mantats' ki'imak u confiar ti' teech, Bembe," Gabor grinned before swimming off, the other boy scoffing slightly.

"Yeah, I know."

"Abo!"

Gabor turned around, hearing his little sister's voice before actually seeing her, and he let out a wince. The little ball of energy wrapped herself around his torso as he chuckled, hugging the princess's back.

"Hola, Lali," He picked her up, setting her on his shoulders.

"Tu'ux ka'ach? I was looking all over the palace for you!" Citlali huffed, placing her head in her hands while resting her elbows on her oldest brother's head.

"I was just in town doing my chores. I didn't know you missed me that much," Gabor smiled up at her.

"I always miss you, Abo. You're much more fun to play and draw with," Citlali pulled her arms away before lightly picking up strands of her brother's hair.

"Really now?" The oldest prince raised an eyebrow in doubt.

"Je'el," The princess braided his hair. "Mael locked himself in his room again... I've been stuck in classes for an hour, and after that, I was alone and bored."

"Hmm... Maybe we should find you some friends then, huh?" Gabor hummed cheekily.

"No! I'd rather hang out with you. Cause if I make friends with other Talokanil, I'll be alone when I'm all grown up."
