The wait

(Krein pov)
When Shelby came in crying I knew someone was going to die today.

*Earlier that day*

It was second period and krein was getting ready for philosophy,the break went by slow when shelby walked in. This interaction between the two was more casual than anything,no weird stories or crazy banter. A simple hello, how was your morning, and what are you doing? Seems normal enough but with Shelby this was too normal. Krein sensed something was up but kept his mouth shut thinking she was tired, to him this girls well being meant a little more to him than what a Regular teacher should. She brought him a new light to his days,her beaming smile and angelic face always seemed to make him grin when talking. He caught himself smiling as he thought of those times but snapped out of it when she left without  a word.  Shelby always says goodbye this was getting weirder by the second, krein started to panic thinking that he did something wrong. Was he rude to her or did she think he was ignoring her when he was lost in thought, he would never do that! Thoughts upon thoughts piled on his brain as the last bell rang and his class began. Second period was excruciatingly long he made simple mistakes during his lesson and was slow in his remarks. It's insane how much Shelby means to him to have mistakes so simple happen. When the bell rang for lunch krein was sweating and his heart was beating fast. He needed to know what's going on, he can't leave her like that! With lunch started it gave him time to breathe and calm himself,his chicken and rice was ripped out of his bag and placed upon the desk. Food helped him think and focus.  He took three bites of his food when a tear stricken Shelby stumbles through the door. Her clothes were rumpled and her hair frizzed. Kreins eyes widen at the scene and in his mind he knows whoever did this shall die for hurting the girl he holds dear to his heart. When she lets out a sob of fear he casts away his chicken and rice and rises from his chair with a solid face and pointed stare he walks over to her and takes the broken girl  into his arms. He caressed her hair and her arms find their way around his back, squeezing slightly she buries her head into his firm chest. She whimpers into his skin and it vibrates through his body, it makes him feel warm inside knowing she can feel secure around him. He smiles at the scene  but the silence is broken when he asks "Shelby what happened? Who hurt you?" He try's to stay calm and gentle as to not frighten her more her pain is like knives slicing his skin. The quivering girl looked into his eyes and it took all his strength to not fall right there. He moves themselves to the nearest desk he can,he closes his door as to not have any interruptions. His girl is in pain and his attention can't be divided,he wants to fix this and he will fix this even if it takes his life.  He sits them down on the chair with her in his lap turned to face him. She replies quietly " I'm so sorry krein" tears well in her eyes again but she continues " I don't wanna bother you but you're the only teacher I feel safe with". His heart splinters and yet soars into the air from  the words he was hearing. She rambled on and continually apologized for wasting his time,he grabs her face and stares deeply into her eyes while he speaks.  "Shelby lessard, you should never apologize for how you feel and let alone apologize to me, I am always here for you and will never leave" silence clung close to the two beings as their hearts beat in sync. She blinked and smiled for the first time that day,she wrapped her arms around her teacher who meant so much to her as she nuzzled her head into his neck as she felt his hands envelop her back and lock behind her she felt safe she felt loved and most important she knew he felt the same.
After minutes of the embrace she quietly and almost regrettably removes her head from his neck as she looks at him he smiles and her eyes sparkle with life. She knew she can trust him with anything, " krein I would like to be moved from my seat in the class and placed somewhere new" with this request it starts a new thought process in the man's head. " but Shelby why?! I thought you wanted to be close to my desk?" He rambled confused. She smiles sadly " I do I really do but the reason for all this is because me and jace broke up" she replies while avoiding his eyes. Kreins heart melts at her timidness but his thoughts run cold as he thinks of the skinny brown haired boy who dare kiss his soft,rebellious red haired beauty. He stares at her and with a cold stare answers " he will no longer be attending class as far as I'm concerned" her eyes widen at this statement and she hurriedly says " wait krein that's not necessary!" He shakes his head as he picks her up,almost instinctively her legs wrap around his hips as he settles her upon the table top. " no Shelby it's not but he hurt you and after knowing this if I look at him I will not be able to control the rage I feel"
She feels intimidated by him but also protected knowing the lengths her teacher would go for her. " please just move him to the back or something else" he looks at her on top of the desk in her motley Crüe top and dark ripped jeans hair all a mess. He pushes a strand behind her ear as he smiles " whatever the lady wants the lady gets" he whispered. She felt his breath against her cheek, her face heats up at the contact they are having. Every point of contact that their bodies have is set a flame, the look in his eyes almost predatory. The bell rings the eye contact diminished as they both look at the clocks to see that 4th period has begun! They untangle themselves from the cocoon like hold. The longing in both sets of eyes almost drowning as they say their goodbyes and the flood of students begin to emerge. Krein slows his breathing as the students sit down his chicken and rice completely dismissed on his desk as he begins his lesson in biology 30. Shelby makes her trek to her math class opening the door to a confused Campbell.
They both can't stop thinking about the prominent confession each other just said.

*time skip*
The ring of the last bell falls on the ears of the daydreaming Shelby and she scrambles to sort her things and make a b line for the door. She speedwlaks back to kreins class hoping to  catch him before he leaves. Little does anyone know he is doing the same thing hoping to catch her before she leaves.  They both turn the corner and collide,knocked to the floor Shelby is lying backwards as she opens her eyes to see kolton krein bracing himself on top of her. They oh so gracefully pick themselves up and apologize as the eyes of others turn to the scene. Faces red with embarrassment and butterflies they start a straight course for his class again. As they near the class he smiles and laugh at the moment just Before and the tension that formed falls as if nothing happened. They reach the class and as he turns to her she blurts the words he's been needing to hear since the first month they met. " krein I have feelings for you I don't know exactly what one's but I know they stretch further than what they should and I can't keep them down" she heaves a sigh at the end and dared to look up. She saw his walls fall and she sees a look fueled by love and adoration as he looks at her it almost knocks her back. " Shelby you have no idea how long I've been waiting, you mean too much to me for this to end at what it should be" he hurriedly replies his desires to her his secrets his feelings his thoughts all on the table. Vulnerable as they ware they know they can trust each other and be like this always. The tension is strong and yet familiar,the space between both of them diminished in seconds and krein rushed over to lift his girl into the air bring her close to him to feel his skin against hers and her warmth on his body.  She grips tightly to his shoulders as he does this movement and feels weightless in his strong arms,the heat radiating from his body warms her heart and mind. Inside  she knows his feelings are true. They stare into the others eyes with such longing as time stops arms tangled and bodies close, This  moment,this time this day was made for them,It was made for this love. Only one thought was on their minds except the fact that no matter how good a paper jace had kolton will make sure he will receive a fat 0 for it. He turns his attention back to the beautiful girl in his arms and as Brown eyes lock on brown eyes the moment and tension could not be more forceful as their eyes close and their hearts sync,heads cave in towards the motion. Lips lock in a long lasting first kiss shared between two love sick humans who's places in society say this is wrong but in a soulmate bond means nothing. His lips course yet smooth against her soft and skilled plump ones. The fire ignited stronger and the love grows brighter. The chicken and rice long forgotten on the side of the desk as the two figures part from the kiss forheads touch noses bump as they link hands as if to say you're mine and I'm yours and nothing will change.
