"Kuya do you remember when we went to San Nicholas?" Nikki asked, trying to make sense.
"Oo naman ang ganda kaya dun, doon pa nga tayo nag New Year di ba?" Luke answered; wandering why all of a sudden Nikki asked that question.
"Bakit mo nga pala natanong?" He still doesn't have a clue on what his sister was trying to imply.
"Uhm, ano kasi kuya", she was thinking if he also noticed some things.
"What Niks? Straight to the point" Luke was a bit of Richard's temperament, they don't want segueing.
"Ok! Listen Kuya, wala ka bang napapansin kina dad and Maya?" she said, trying to give her brother a hint on what she was talking about.
"Napapansin?" his voice was a bit higher, he has something on his mind but he wasn't sure if they think the same things.
"Do you still remember nung umuwi si Maya sa probinsya tapos dad became so masungit", she paused as she gathered her thoughts and waiting if Luke has something to add, but she received only a lift from his eyebrow.
"Ok! Eto na talaga kuya, napapansin ko kasi recently na parang may something kina dad and Maya?" she breathed a sigh of relief as she uttered those words that bothered her, not actually bothered, confused maybe, she slept late for several nights, because of those things she noticed.
"Hala Niks! Ngayon mo lang napansin yun?" Luke laughed teasingly.
"Kuya! Matagal ko nang napapansin yun kaso nga lang I don't want to assume things baka kasi mali yung napapansin ko"
"Kung meron ngang something magagalit ka ba or magsusungit ulit kay Maya?" he turned to his sister with his serious looks.
"Of course not kuya, alam mo naman kung ano na ang mga nagawa satin ni Maya di ba? She's fine for dad, I mean she's good for dad, I think it's not too late for dad to love again"
"Yun naman pala e!" Luke flicked his fingers because of excitement and happiness at the same time.
"Kaso parang ang torpe ni dad" Nikki added.
Things replayed on their minds. The "harana" thing her dad did during New Year's Eve. To Luke it was when he was practicing with Maya for their prom night.
"OMG! Kuya, it's now that I realized, baka nag-away si dad and Maya kaya umuwi sya before magpasko and dad bigla siyang nagkaroon ng site visit, tapos the whole vacation wala naman siyang ibang pinuntahan kundi kila Maya" she exclaimed with smile that wrapped her face as she pointed her index finger up.
"Oo nga Niks! Tapos nung nagpaparactice kami ni Maya para sa prom namin, I saw dad held her hand and her waist, kaya pala parang nasa cloud nine si Maya habang nagsasayaw kami" Luke added.
"E kung--"
"I-set up kaya natin sila" they both spoke simultaneously.
"Maganda yan Niks, do you think matutuwa si Abby about this?" Luke's excitement faded instantly because of the thought that Abby might not want it.
"Kuya! Ano ka ba! Number 1 fan kaya ni Maya si Abby, I remember one time, yung story na palaging kinukwento ni Maya kay Abby, about that 'mahal na hari and mahal na prinsesa' thing"
"Siguro nga, pero dapat planuhin muna natin para pati si Abby masurprise" Luke clapped his hands and he stood walking towards the door.
"Kuya! Saan ka pupunta?" Nikki shifted from her position towards her brother.
"Kay Manang Fe, I'm sure alam nya kung anong meron si dad and Maya", he twisted the knob and went out of the room and Nikki followed quickly.
They ran down the stairs, going to Manang Fe's room, luckily Maya is not around, she has her class even during Saturdays; meanwhile, Richard was in the aviation doing some engineering for the coastal plane of Time Airways.
