Staring into the eyes of the destroyer, the Justice League has no idea what their future holds.

Six years later, in a future of knightmares...

"Victor, I need you to go a little faster."

Bruce paces impatiently. It is only a matter of time until Superman finds these three remaining members of the Justice League.

"I'm going as fast as I can," Victor replies. His mind moves frantically. "This technology is damaged nearly to hell."

The cosmic treadmill has been nearly destroyed.

Victor looks over. "Barry, can you phase your hand through that panel for me? Break it. Buy us some more time."

"Trust me, Vic," Barry says with a smile. "Currently, time is on our side."

The wails of parademons echo through the halls.

Bruce looks back nervously. "Anytime today, Victor."

"I'm almost... done."

"Thank God."

"Great," Barry says. "So, what do I do?"

"You have two windows of time to jump through," Victor bases. "The only problem is knowing which one is the right one. If we don't get this right, the timeline could be screwed to hell, and we're back right where we started."

"So how do I know which window to choose," Barry asks. "Are we supposed to just leave it up to chance and hope we get it right?"

Victor pauses. Confused and anxious, he turns to Bruce. "Which one would you pick?"

Bruce stares, contemplating the situation. If they get this wrong, Barry could end up jumping back to the Batcave, repeating the same timeline. He has to think rationally about this, and acting strictly on faith isn't going to work this time.

He turns to Victor. "If I wasn't here for you to ask me, which one would you choose?"

"I'd choose the first window," Victor replies.

"Great. Choose the second one."

Why the second one?" Barry questions.

"If you choose the first one, you'll end up in the Batcave in 2016. That's too far back."

"Second one it is." Barry steps onto the treadmill. He whispers to himself. "Make your own future. It's all right now."

Victor turns to Bruce. "How do we know if this works?"

"If this works, then we disappear. A new... hopefully better... timeline forms. We live a better life. A more peaceful life."

A single tear falls from Bruce's eye. A rare occurrence. He snaps back to focus.

"We have to hurry. It's time."

There is a banging at the door. Parademons scream and screech, scratching to get in.

"Victor!" Bruce yells. "Start it up!"

Victor races to the cosmic treadmill and starts it.

The door bursts open, and parademons begin to swarm.

"Run, Barry!" Victor screams.
