It has been 2,000 years since the earth collapsed under the feet of our great-grandparents. The successors of the old rulers found each other, but it was difficult to come to terms. In the beginning, there were sixty-four of them, each ruling their own country, but each also wanted to own all the land. They couldn't come to an agreement. A difficult time has begun. Greed took over. The earth has been polluted with innocent blood. Brothers killed brothers, sons killed sons. Kingdom after kingdom fell. The time of peace has finally come. A descendant of the king of those lands came to power - the mighty Erastus Hartsheerser. His power lay in the love of his subjects. It was he who was the food for the thirsty souls of his soldiers. He didn't care about the land, only the good of his people mattered. It was the subjects who loved him who obtained the lands for him. People worshiped him, but those who lost their rulers never forgot him.

Some of the royal families survived. However, they were hidden so that the people would not know that their former rulers were alive. Their positions were so heavily masked that even the descendants themselves did not know about their origin. But the king knew that literally, every child of the 474 known bloodlines had survived. Erastus treated everyone as his own children, but he was no fool. Year after year, after Name Day, he went on a tour of the country to gather children as young as 15. He did not spare any descendant of a well-known family. He was especially concerned about the descendants of great rulers because it was they who could mainly deprive him of the crown. Erastus was a good man only relatively. He himself believed that his heart was pure, but it wasn't. His choices flowed from the darkness of his heart, but his nature did not allow her to play such a big role. So his soul made him decide to keep the 2,000-year-old tradition.

As a child, Erastus Hartsheerser attended Letiside, the School of Magic located above the continent. The only memento of this period was the Rainbow Topaz worn around his neck. A precious stone is worn only by leaders. The king knew that his offspring would not be able to inherit the throne from him, so he hid his children in the farthest corners of the kingdom to let them cross over to the other side at the age of 15. He hoped that one of them would win power on his own.

Erastus, getting rid of his competition, was born 20 years too late. At the age of 30, he came to power, so he could no longer get rid of the rightful ruler of the continent in terms of blood, which was Drake Fulgur Tenebris. So he named him Drake Loyal and made him his squire. But it was a great disgrace for him. After all, a 40-year-old man from the court should have been a knight long ago. However, King Erastus explained that Drake served him well, so no one opposed the king's will.

However, rumors arose, and some did not believe that the squire came from an insignificant family. There were many who saw in him their former ruler. No one wanted to get in trouble with the king, so no one talked about it. However, there were also those who looked for similarities. Those who wanted to regain their rightful ruler at all costs, most often for their own benefit. That's how Lord Vulture found his master. And the plan to seize the Castle of the Kings, he developed a long time before finding the heir. He finally found a reason to kill the current ruler.
