As nick nelson made his way towards school director David noted how good the new cameras were. They had upgraded the school over the break. Every year cameras got better, smaller, and cheaper. Now they had HD from multiple angles anywhere nick regularly went. Long gone were the days when they had to find places to hide the bulky cameras from baby Nickolas.

Outside the school gates nick friends welcomed him back. Imogen had been set up as nicks love interest and she played her part, being a little flirty. Meanwhile Harry and the other rugby lands were chucking a ball around. It was just another normal day on the nelson show.

Suddenly Harry fell trying to catch the rugby ball. He cried out in pain, clutching his wrist.

"That wasn't supposed to happen!" David muttered, he got annoyed when things went off script.

Two of the C cast rugby players picked Harry up to take him to the nurse.

David soon worked out the consequences of this unscripted accident. By nick was already on his way to his from room. There wasn't time to implement a new plan. But the production team on the nelson show were used to the little hiccups that came with a main character that didn't know he was the most famous reality TV star in the world.

Over the general frequency David just told the cast a crew to go with it.

They had choreographed things so that almost all seats in nicks form would be full by the time nick got there, save for two in the front row. Harry was supposed to sit in one and nick would pick the one next to him. With no time to adapt the teacher just kept telling everyone to pick a seat.

But with harry out of the picture nick chose a seat at the back next to an extra. David swore, the extra had no earpiece, wasn't rigged for sound. He wasn't even cleared for dialogue.

But the hidden mikes and cameras refocused from the front of the room to the back and the show kept running seamlessly.

"Hi." Nick said.

"Hi." Charlie looked like a deer in headlights. He had been given strict instructions by the shows legal team to not even look at nick and that wasn't an empty threat. They fired multiple extras a day for staring at nick.

Charlie had signed an ironclad contract, if he jeopardised the nelson show an army of lawyers would tear his life to shreds. But then he remembered the small print, he wasn't allowed to go up to nick, but if nick initiated conversation he was supposed to go with it. Acting normal was the one thing more important than the script. The show had to go on.

As Charlie began small talk with nick he was acutely aware that millions of people were watching live. As he said his name thousands would be goggling it, (his real name as casting hadn't given him a character).

The shows production team was frantically searching for Charlie's file. Already they were scrambling to create a backstory. A manager was put on standby to grab Charlie the second he parted with nick.

But Charlie's spiralling thoughts were forgotten when nick turned to him with blue hands.

"Uh, Charlie do you have a tissue, my pen sort of exploded."

"I don't think a tissue is going to work." Charlie said as he searched for one.

"Can you come with me to the bathroom, to open the doors for me." Nick asked.

As nick washed his hands they joked and laughed. Charlie was more comfortable as he knew bathrooms were one of the few places not rigged for legal/privacy reasons.

Between form and lunch Charlie's life dramatically changed. He had been yanked away and whisked across the island to director David.

David saw himself as nicks big brother, he had watched over him, guided him. Everything about nicks life was carefully curated. Teams of experts decided what colour clothes his mum should get him. social media experts controlled what he saw online. Every product in his house was paid for by ad money. David even fed lines to nicks friends and family.
