Kathelyn's Point of View

I opened my eyes when I heard Taylor Swift blurting out lyrics from "Shake it off". I groaned loudly, I don't want to get out of my bed but I also don't want to miss school. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Sigh.

I leaned over and reached my right hand towards my desk to put on my glasses and reached for my phone. 7:00 AM.

I turned off the alarm on my phone and got up. I went inside my walk-in-closet and picked out a black jeans and a grey sweatshirt. I got inside my bathroom, stripped off my clothes and took a shower.

For me, it really doesn't matter what I wear. Don't waste your time trying to impress everyone, trust me, they don't care. I'm not like those girls that like to get dressed fashionably to impress others, I just stay out of their way and move on with my life and return the favor by leaving me alone also.

After a few minutes, I stepped out of the bathroom and put my clothes on. I put my hair in a bun, stepped on my white sneakers and grabbed my backpack.

I moved downstairs and smelled the aroma of bacon and egg. My stomach growled and I went to the kitchen to see mom cooking and dad drinking his coffee while reading a newspaper.

"Morning, dad!" I kissed his cheek and turned around at mom, "Morning, mom!" I kissed her cheek also and sat on one of the chairs.

"Good morning honey, how was sleep?" Mom asked, turning around to put the bacon on my plate.

"It was okay." I answered, picking up my spoon and fork to eat.

"So, are you excited for your first day?" Dad asked, looking up at me.

"Not really." I lied, I'm so nervous but I want to show my parents that I'm strong and I can fight on my own. That this time, they don't have to worry about the bullies.

My dad made a humming sound and nodded in agreement. I looked around and noticed that their already done unpacking and furniture were placed already. I looked around more hoping to find that one thing that always remided me of my dad - my real dad.

"Hey mom, umm. Thank you for keeping dad's jacket." I smiled at her.

"Of course I would keep it honey." Mom answered.

When we finished eating breakfast, I put my dishes in the sink.

"I gotta go now. " I told them.

"Have fun at school." Dad said smiling.

"Make sure to tell me if you find some hot boys there." Mom smirked while dad frowned.

I laughed at them. "Love you guys." I told them and they replied back. I got outside of the house and walked to school.

I went inside the school and saw a swarm of students in the hall. Boys, passing balls. Girls gossiping. I mentally cringed when I saw a couple making out by the locker. Geez, PDA much?

I went inside a room that was labeled, Office and saw an elderly looking woman, probably in her 50's.

"Good Morning dear, what can I do for you?" She asked sweetly.

"Uhh.. I'm Kathelyn Evans." I don't really know what to say, so instead, I said my name.

"Oh! The new student! Nice to meet you, I'm Jane Sheri but you can call me, Jane." She smiled, offering her hand and I gladly shook it. Jane opened her drawer to get something.
