[10 days after the battle against Intruder, SO9 contracted area.]

It's been ten days since the battle with the ringleader. The death of Intruder has shifted the mission focus to data recovery and intelligence gathering. The Captain, impressed by the exceptional performance of certain squads—Embers 3-1, 2-1, and 1-3—decided to reorganize them into a specialized task force. This led to the formation and activation of the Mako group, a unit designed for small-unit tactics, special reconnaissance, and direct action. The Mako team, led by SSG. Kurtz, was formerly known as Ember 3-1 and has now been re-tasked for these special missions. Their inaugural mission is to accompany the AR Team and recover pre-marked data.

"It should be nearby," AR-15 said as both teams observed the landscape from a hill. "M4, double-check the coordinates."

"M4? M4, double-check the coordinates!" AR-15 repeated louder when she noticed M4 spacing out.

"Huh? Ah! Yes! Right away!" M4 responded, snapping back to attention.

"You know, M4, you've gotten pretty slack ever since M16 came back," AR-15 remarked.

"I have not!" M4 denied.

"To think you were designed to be the most cutting-edge doll model... yet they ended up giving you the personality of a worrywart. I really don't get what Persica was thinking," AR-15 continued.

"I'm sure Ms. Persica had her reasons," M4 defended.

"Spacing out on an op is unacceptable. M4, what's the matter with you?" AR-15 pressed.

"I just... Every time I see the scenery here, I feel something I can't quite put into words," M4 admitted.

"Are you talking about the number 3 safe house? We nearly got wiped out there if it weren't for the Americans showing up unexpectedly. That was the most dangerous op the AR Team has been on. Still can't wrap my head around how they got here," M16 said.

"Neither do we," SSG. Kurtz added as his men scanned the surroundings.

"Like I was saying..." M4 attempted to continue but was interrupted by M16.

"Aw, you were the first to discover the coordinates in the battle logs had been altered, weren't you, M4? You found it strange and wanted to investigate. You've got to take responsibility for it," M16 said.

"While that's true... I didn't expect the string of encrypted video recordings we found would bring us here," M4 said.

"Don't worry this time. We've got the commander's echelons to clear a path for us. Even if we run into Agent again, we won't end up in the same sad state as last time," M16 assured her.

"Agent... She hasn't shown up for several months since our run-in with her. Who knows what that SF ringleader's cooking up in secret? Besides... what Intruder said about 'the main event' bothers me," M4 said.

"Who cares about that!? What matters is that the commander told us to head out! That means more SF for me to scrap!" SOPII said enthusiastically.

"Quit dreaming. The final set of coordinates that Kalina analyzed isn't hers," AR-15 said.

"We're still about 2 km from our objective," M4 added.

"Tch," SOPII groaned.

"Speaking of which, our commander seems pretty passionate about this. While she says it's a chance to score points with HQ, she's clearly concerned about us dolls," M16 pointed out.

"Do you think so?" M4 asked.

"She's always been like that since day one in Griffin. She doesn't always talk about it, but it's clear she cares about her dolls," one of the Rangers said.
