Now, the tables have turned and it's Y/N who has to be away and Satoru is the one left behind.

Usually, you're the one who waits for Gojo Satoru's return. As the strongest jujutsu sorcerer, he's away most of the time due to some work that requires his strength and knowledge. Although you take on more missions since you're a semi-grade 2 sorcerer, his few missions require him to be away for a longer period of time.

A lot of the time, when you take on a mission, he's also away for a different mission. Which is why it did not feel like he'd been away for too long as you were kept busy. But once the job is done and you have nothing else to do, you're bombarded again by thoughts of your boyfriend.

You miss him. No matter how many times he can be an annoying, pain-in-the-ass. You miss his smile every time he looks at you. That teasing smile when he comes to annoy you, then bursting out in laughter when he succeeded in making your face flush red. His hands constantly find its way onto yours. Or his arms wrapping around your waist when you walk, sit, or lay down together. And his gentle kisses on your forehead, trailing down to your cheeks then to your lips. Sometimes even going as far down to your neck and collarbones just to tease you. But once he comes back, he makes sure to make it up to you by showering you with his love and affection.

This has become something you're both already used to. Him, being away for long then coming back eventually. But he never really experienced being the one that stays behind while you're on a mission.

Well, that is until today.

"What am I supposed to do while you're gone?" He says, looking at you with his sad puppy face.

"Well, I don't know. What do you usually do when I'm gone?" You responded.

"Wait for you to come back."

You frowned and gave him a dead-panned look at his pouty lips.

"Hey, in my defense, you're only gone when you're in the bathroom or in an important meeting that surprisingly doesn't need my presence. But I usually cling to you all the time." He says.

"Yeah, now that I think about it, you're like an annoying leech who won't get off. I have to practically BEG you to not follow me to the meeting and the bathroom. THE BATHROOM." You emphasized.

"What's wrong with that? It's not like I haven't seen every-"

"Yeah, okay. No need to remind me. Shut up." You stopped him before he finished the sentence.

"But, damn. Is this what you feel every time I'm gone? I never knew it's this terrible. I would've asked you to come with me."

"Oh, don't be dramatic, Satoru. And you can't make me join your mission when I'm not in the same grade as you."

He sighs at the realization, "yeah. It's difficult. I want you by my side but I can't or else I'll put you at risk."

"And that's why I'm working hard to stay by your side, remember?" You smiled at him as you looked at him softly. "For now, I'm content about how we are right now. We'll be together more often soon."

He returns your smile sadly and puts his hand to rest on your head. "I can't say that I like the idea of you being strong enough to take on difficult missions like I do."

"But I also want to do this for myself. I can't stay weak and be a burden for you in the future."

This time, his smile became proud. He was satisfied with your answer. "And that's one of the things I like the most about you."

"Weak and burdensome?"

He chuckled, "I mean, headstrong and determined."

"If that's your way of asking me to bring you souvenirs, then it's not working."

This time, he laughed. "Alright. As long as you come back alive in one piece, that's enough for me."

"Yeah, yeah." You say and he comes to you and holds you in his arms. For a while, you both stayed like that in silence, breathing in each other's scent as comfort. It was nice, and you fit right into his hold perfectly as always.

"Now, let's eat out before your big day!!" He exclaimed like a little kid as he pulled out from the hug.

You could only chuckle. Oh, how you love this man-child.
