The trip to Baton Rouge started just fine till it got too late and we decided to camp out. I wouldn't call the people I was with friends but acquaintances. They were headed to Baton Rouge for a football game and I was heading there to meet up with a friend. We were camping in the middle of a clearing covered by trees, it was a bit eerie. Wade, Nick, and Blake were Alphas and already found their mates except for Nick who was still looking, Dalton was Nick's beta. Carly was Wade's mate and Paige was Blakes. I was the only omega in the group and I didn't have a mate which made me happy. My name is Olivia Monroe, I have long blonde hair and blue eyes, I'm an omega without a mate but that did not bother me it made me happy. I was stronger than most omegas but I am still quite sensitive to a few things such as screaming, and alcohol and I bruise easily.
I was sitting on the blanket with Carly and Paige listening and not talking they were chatting away, it was easier for me to listen than to speak. If you listen more you'll learn more than meets the eye, for example even without Carly telling me I knew Paige was pregnant and Carly was hiding a bruise her brother Nick gave her. Nick was a very aggressive alpha and I had to be grateful that he was not my mate. As we chatted, the roar of an engine cuts everyone off, and the truck's headlight pulls into a clearing, blinding us with its high beams. I stand with the others, though I was not nearly as tall as everyone else, I stood at 5'0 while everyone else was around 5'6 and 6'0. I moved away from the group a little as the alphas were getting irritated, looking at the truck I could tell it was an old beaten-up white Chevy truck but it was well taken care of. As I stared trying to see who was in the truck I felt a shock of electricity run through me, it was a feeling I have never felt before, it felt strange.
We all heard a low intimidating growl letting us all know that whoever was in that truck was an alpha, one that should not be messed with. The growl was a warning, but a warning for what we do not know. As I stared at the truck I felt myself grow nearer before jumping at the sound of glass hitting glass. I whip my head around just in time to see Nick throw his beer bottle at the man's headlight, shattering it on impact, and to see Carly shove him only to get a snarl to the face in return. The man sat there for a few more minutes before backing away and going down the road.
It wasn't till midnight, that all of us head to bed. Blake and Paige were in one tent, Wade, Carly, and I were in one tent, and finally, Dalton and Nick were in the last tent. I was not like other omegas my eyesight was exceptional I could see people's body heat and different moods, and my hearing was exceptional. This comes in handy especially when you hear someone stalking around the campsite. The downfall of being an omega is not having the confidence or strength to defend myself or others around me. I was strong but not like normal werewolves, I was strong in my ability to strategize plans for battle or to be able to hide where no one would find me that's where I'm strong. Listening as the person moves quietly, I kept my breathing even. I was awake but I was not going to open my eyes, especially when the mystery person was standing behind me looking through the netting at me. I could sense his body heat, his mood was a light red and black which usually meant he was angry, but the black meant evil, which made me nervous.
He finally left my side, I could hear him moving more and cutting something, then it was silent. He'd gone away, calming me as I fell back to sleep but it felt like something was missing. I was awoken when Blake threw the football at the tent yelling at us to wake up. It only took a few minutes to put everything away, Carly, Paige, and I were in the forest getting changed when we smelled a horrendous smell, and Carly being Carly followed the strange smell, we followed behind her till she fell down a hill screaming, it didn't take long for the alpha's to come running to their mate's side even Carly's brother was worried. we were standing on the hillside looking down as Wade helped Carly out of the pit of dead animal carcasses. The smell was overwhelming making my head spin, crouching as I covered my nose, Nick came over covering my nose using his shirt. It was weird that he was being so nice, but I appreciated the gesture.
