Joeys POV

"Joey wake up." A voice called. "Hm?" I mumbled. "Time for school." My mother said. I groaned. "Yea yea I'm coming.." I muttered. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. "Last day until the weekend." My mother recalled. "Yep I know, can you get out?" I asked. "You have such the attitude in the morning, yknow that?" My mother asked. I murmured. She shook her head and walked out of my door, shutting it behind her. I, like any other day, slung my feet off the side of the bed and sluggishly got up.

Picking out my outfit I remembered that I had track practice tonight. I groaned and the thought. "God damnit.. fucking..I hate goddamn track.." I whispered under my breath. I walked into my bathroom and did my normal everyday routine. Sighing, I opened my bathroom door and walked out of my room. "Na-Joey. You are not walking out like that." My mother said. "Why? What's wrong with it?" I asked. "The makeup- I mean seriously? You...you look gay.." She said. My eyes narrowed. "What's wrong with that?" I asked. "You're?!-" "No! Im Just asking what's wrong with looking like this? What? You homophobic?" I asked. "No I just-." "Then there's no issue." I said. I slammed the door on my way out. I was already pissed the fuck off so I didn't need that bullshit.

After a very, very long pep talk with Shawn before school, I finally calmed down. I have to admit, I didn't need to be that mean. I was just in a bad mood! It was early anyway, it wasn't my fault. Suddenly, Shawn patted my back. "Have a good day, ok? Call me if you need anything, you know I'll-" "Always be there. I know." I smiled. He smiled back at me. "Bye Joes, see you after school." He said. "Bye!" I called back. I walked inside the big doors and was, like everyday, met with the big crowd, only this time, I wasn't with my friends. I decided to come in early today. Because one, I was angry, two, it didn't hurt to run a mile or two. I sighed and continued walking.

"Hey faggot." Someone called in front of me. I slowly looked up and was met with..him. "Please not today Brian.." I whispered. "Oh why? Havin' a good day?" He teased. I started to shake. "Not with your friends, I see. They finally realize that you're a total freak compared to them? Even that Sid guy is less of a freak than you!" He said. I looked down more. He laughed. A true laugh. He enjoyed doing this. "Look at me." He ordered. I didn't. "I said look at me faggot!" He yelled. I flinched but slowly raised my head. "Guess you don't know how to take orders, huh?" He asked. I didn't respond. He gritted his teeth in response. "Listen freak, you're gonna fucking listen to me." He said. Tears threatened to spill. I tried to walk away, but he tripped me, causing me to spill all of my things. "Dumbass." Brain muttered.

"The fuck is your problem?" Someone asked from behind me. "The hell are you?" Brain asked. I sat up and saw Corey. "His friend, that's who." Corey said. My eyes lit up. "Well then, what are you gon-" Brain was cut off by Corey punching him in the face. I gasped and covered my mouth. The talking around us stopped. "Cmon Joey, let's go." Corey said. I quickly gathered my things and got up, following him up some stairs.

"You ok?" Corey asked. I shakily nodded my head. "Yea..yea. Thank you so much.." I said. Corey smiled. "Yea, you were the first person to actually want to talk to me, that was the least I could do." Corey replied. I smiled. "But seriously, what is his problem?" He asked. I shrugged. "Yknow it's just another homophob." I said. I looked down at the ground when I said that. "Joey." Corey trailed off. "Mhm..?" I responded. "Are you gay?" He asked. I didn't respond. "You can tell me. I won't judge you." He said. I looked up at him. "You won't?" "Nope." "Promise?" "Promise." Corey said. I sighed and looked back down. "Yea.." I whispered. He didn't respond so I prepared myself for the worst. "Listen Joe, I can call you that, right?" He asked. I nodded. "I know we've only known each other for a day now, but I'm happy you told me." Corey said. I looked back up at him. "Uh-uh..yea..it's better you know anyway.." I said. He opened his arms with a smile on his face. I smiled and gave into a hug.

"Woahhhh." A voice echoed from beside us. We quickly parted and looked over at Paul, Sid, and Craig. "Aw wait that was really cute." Paul said. "Wha- n-no! It wasn't like that! We just-.." Corey saw me struggling so he helped. "I was just comforting him. Yknow you guys should have been there. Some asshole was picking on him." Corey said. I nodded. "Really?!" Paul exclaimed. "Are you ok?!" Sid said as he ran up to be and grabbed my cheeks. "Uh-uh yea-yea Sid..I'm fine...now, at least." I said. Me and Corey smiled at each other. "Something ain't right." Craig said. We all looked at him. Craig, in response, shoved his hands in his pockets and shrugged. I sighed. "Yea well nothings wrong, so let's just go to class." I said. Corey nodded. "You know where you're going?" I asked Corey. He nodded. "Thanks though." Corey said. I smiled and nodded. Soon, all of us were off to class.
