New sights.
New sounds.
New people.
New beginnings.
That is what this was all about. I cannot believe that I found a studio here that was willing to take me on so late in the season. Although I'm not ready to compete, I am just going to go in there and give it my all to find my spot in the studio.
Paying the cab driver, I slam the door shut. Gripping onto my backpack, I walk towards the doors. Opening the doors, I am greeted by a receptionist, who asks for my name.
"Uhm. Hi! I'm Jade..." I am so nervous.
"Well Jade, do you have a last name?" Her accent isn't too bad. But saying as I used to vacation here every once and a while.
"No. I don't." I give her a reassuring smile; a tall and thin lady comes out of a back office.
"Jade! Hi, I am Marie! The owner, I spoke with you on the phone just before we confirmed. Come with me." She signals me to follow her.
While giving me a tour I noticed a few people looking at me as if they didn't know me. Which is exactly what I want. She shows me where I can set my stuff for the time being and where I am staying until I can find a place to rent and a place to work.
I already have a few interviews at local restaurants and spas that are in need of help. And there are a few small apartments nearby that I have scheduled a tour. So, I'd say I am pretty set when it comes to getting settled in. Which is weird because I have never moved in my life until today.
Taking off my sweats, "Alrighty, so what's up first?"
"Well, team bonding. So like trust exercises, get to know you. That sort of thing. We do it once a month to keep everyone up to date on lives outside of here." She leaves.
Taking a sip of my water, I look around. There are about six people in this room, including me, so I am going to assume that this is what she means by team.
That's when they signal me to join them.
"Alright well I'm first, and since we have someone new here, I might as well introduce myself. Hiii! I'm Gabby. Umm... I am Greyson's duet partner. I pretty much am the best soo yeah. Grey, you are next."
Rolling his eyes, "Hey. I'm Greyson, call me grey. Uhm. as she said, we are duet partners. She is not the best, I am." He signals across to me.
Letting out a nervous laugh, "uh. Hi. I'm Jade. i uh. At my old studio I was a part of a duet... But now I'm here, willing to just let things go with the flow. And yeah." I shrug it off.
"I guess I'm next. Heyo. I'm Charlie. I'm just here at this point for solos. Soo yeah."
"What's up? I'm Sullivan, aka Oliver. Don't ever call me that. I go with the flow too. Wherever ever I'm needed. So pretty much group and solos." he leans back.
"Finally! My turn! Hey. I'm Gemma. I'm a soloist. So yeah. Uh, Jade, why don't you tell us more about yourself." of course.
Smiling nervously. "Well. I used to vacay here when I was younger. My favorite color is lavender, but I hate that smell. I have been dancing since I was 2 and a half. I'm 20. I love all animals, andddd my favorite brand is Nike."
They all smile and nod.
Interrupting us. "Guys, that's all we have time for. I need you guys to learn this new choreo." who is this?
They all groan and get up. I follow them.
Learning this dance step by step but Sullivan keeps getting in my fucking way. He does not watch where he is going and just needs to move.
