The first time you met Epel was when your cat, little Danvers, had been out wandering. You trusted your familiar with your life, and you also knew he certainly wasn't an indoor cat, so it wasn't a surprise when you couldn't immediately find him.

You started to get worried once the sun was close to going down, Danvers was usually back by now. You were really worried when, after you called his name five times in the span of a minute, got out his food, and threatened to take away his snacks, there was still no response.

You ventured out into the woods filled with fear. Luckily, you had found him quite quickly, in fact, he had strolled right up to you. Danvers also appeared to be followed by a lavender-haired boy, he looked to be around your age as well. "Are you his owner?" he asked with a light country accent.

"Oh, yes, thank you very much for keeping an eye on him." You said, holding Danvers tightly in your arms.

"It was no problem." He dismissed. You felt guilty, Danvers wasn't ever kind to strangers the scratches on his clothes spoke to that [and his clothes looked slightly regal, you wouldn't want to run the risk of offending a noble.]

"Well thank you anyway, if you need anything feel free to stop by," you pointed in the direction of your cabin, "I live a little walk that way." He seemed to consider it for a moment before thanking you for the offer and walking away.

After that first encounter, he'd stop by on occasion. Then occasion became a habit. He had become a constant in your daily routine. At first, he'd just stop by for quick visits, but then he started to stay for longer, get to know you more, allow you to know more of him. There wasn't a specific moment you could point to as a reference for when you first developed a crush on him.

You wanted to tell him, oh how badly you wanted to tell him. You just weren't brave enough. Maybe it was the fear of rejection, maybe it was perfectionism, whatever it was it made you suppress your romantic feelings as best you could.

There was one day when he practically stormed into your little house. He was wearing very subtle makeup and smelled like strong perfume. He was ranting about things that you didn't exactly understand, but you tried your best to listen to him anyway.
