Life isn't always fair. Good times and bad, there's always something unwanted and disposed of. For me, life is getting up every morning, going to a supposed "sanctuary" from my problems, hearing adults drone on through hours of the day, then dragging myself back home, putting a grin on my face as i see my younger sister Emily, her bright personality lightening my mood.
We are very close, her and I. We share some features, our mothers long brown curly hair and her bright smile. But the resemblences end there. While Emily is a skinny little thing with emerald green eyes, im a more "fluffy" figure, not skinny, not fat, but a little above average. My eyes, unlike her jade ones, are a medium brown with dark green flecks. Seems cool? Eh, try thinking that again when you were bullied about them looking like a pile of shit in grade school.
By the way, name is Liz, full name being Elizabeth Marie Brantly, but it sounds so goddamn girly i just shortened it.
Back to our story. Didnt hear me mention anything of parents eh? Well she died few years back, car crash up on the highway few days after my 18th birthday. Pretty shitty thing right? My dad, never met him. My only impression on him is that he was a bastard, leaving my mother with no support just after Emily was born.
Emily is 12 now, strong girl for what shes gone through. But shes ill. Doesnt go out as much as she used to, symptoms appeared not too long back. Shes got an (insert disease here). My mum's friend Maura has been helping out ever since mums death, though she seems more deflated. Her and mum were close, almost sisters. Ever since I got custody of Emily and been going to university, the commute from school to the hospital and back home has been tough. So to lighten the load, Maura has been practically living with us, watching over Emily and cooking and cleaning when Im out. If it weren't for her.. lets just say the house would be a wreck due to multiple college projects and lack of cleaning and the kitchen would smell like a dumpster in the middle of August in the Deep South.
Yep. So thats my story. But hold your horses, it gets ever better as some say. You see, though Maura has been with us alot, for the next few weeks or so, near a month, Maura is heading out to her son's house, Greg, to help prepare for his new child which will be born in a few weeks. So until she comes back, she has intact brought some help. But not in the way I would've liked it...You see.. On such short notice, there was only one person she could contact. Her other son. Sure hese a nice lad, but I doubt hell be ready to deal with the weight of taking care of Emily. She can be a bit of a drama queen due to her meds, and we always have quite a few visitors every so often. Oh. I forgot to mention. That son of Maura? Hese a bit of a big thing. Hese one fifth of the biggest boy band in the world, One Direction. And he is coming to my house tomorrow. Niall James Horan. Good god, this is going to be a heck of a few weeks..
