Sam and Ronald woke up later than usual.. Today was the day Ronald dreaded for a while.. Christmas day. He loved christmas. It was his favorite holiday.. It just had one tradition he hated. Every year his family had a big party.. And with Sam in his life.. He supposed he should be a part of this tradition too. He didnt wanna be alone again for another year after all. Just one thing that worried him most of all.. Was telling Sam the truth. His parents weren't the most supportive of queer people anytime they saw a rainbow flag they went nuts! He was just so scared to tell him.. Now he has no choice because he knows Sam is gonna do some silly teasing around his family. He always does it when company is around… Ronald never really cared that he did it; he only really asked about it once and all he said was “it's just because I love you” when that really wasn't the case. Sam did it so people could know who he belonged to. Sam always got nervous when someone did even the slightest flirt to Ronald.. His past relationships were full of lies and broken promises and he didn't want that happening with Ronald. He loved Ronald more than anything in the world. He always tried reassuring Sam that he was never gonna happen and he was always gonna be there for him but the thought still scared him. They had plenty of time to get ready but Ronald just wanted this over with already “are you almost done babe?” asked Ronald impatiently “relax Ronald! We have like two hours to get ready” Sam giggled. He knew that Ronald was impatient sometimes. But he was slightly concerned about why he was at a christmas party with his parents.. He loved Christmas and his parents seemed nice.. From what he's heard from them at least..? Come to think of it. Ronald never really shared much about his family. Why was that?

“Hey Ronald?” Sam shouted across from the room. Ronald responded with a “yeah?” Sam walked out of the room.. Kinda showing off his cute christmas outfit for Ronald. “Hey that looks great on you baby..” he smiled. Sam thanked him and almost forgot what he was gonna ask.. “Why do you barely tell me about your parents? I mean i get you dont see them often.. But you have to know at least some big stuff” Ronald paused. He didn't know what to respond with.. He couldn't lie to him anymore? He thought. It was time to come clean. “Look.. there is something i've been meaning to confess..” he said almost in a whisper. Sam cocked his eyebrow and waited for him to tell him. He was so scared to tell him, he was practically sweating buckets. It had been two minutes and he still hadn't said a word. Sam grew more nervous every second that went by.. “Is he breaking up with me?’ That was the only thought that went through his mind. He didn't understand why since the subject was about family but with his hesitating.. He knew this was a big thing to confess. The silence was finally broken when Sam said something.  “A-Are you breaking up with me?” he stuttered. It was his turn to sweat like crazy. “What!?’ Ronald said almost like he had just woken up in a panic “No! No Sam! I'd never leave you!” Ronald came to him and hugged him. Sam let out a relieved sigh and embraced his hug. His hugs were like medicine.. Anytime he was down all he needed was Ronalds big arms around him and he was all better. “It's… about my parents,” he added. Once he was done confessing to him there was no sadness or relief in Sam’s eyes. Just anger and hatred.. It certainly was the same in his tone.

He knew this was coming and he sure knew how to take it. “You mean.. You haven't come out to your parents!?” he nodded a no and expected another flashy response from him “You are just- so stupid! They're gonna find out soon!” he pulled away from his hug to show how angry he was. “I was hoping you could pretend we're not a couple.. While we were at the party..” he looked down in embarrassment and shame. He knew Sam was staring at him menacingly. “So you’re ashamed of me? Is that it?” he knew he didn't mean it that way he just said it to make him maybe have him confess to his parents on his own. He did need to tell them.. And he didn't want to force him into doing it. “Look.. ill tell them at the party.. Okay? Just please don’t be mad at me.” Sam smiled at the results “deal!” he jumped in his arms letting him know he’s forgiven. “Thanks Sam.. you know I love you too much to ever be ashamed of you” he also let out a little smile and gave him a kiss on the cheek “oh do i now?’ he said, teasing him which let out a laugh from Ronald. “Cmon then dork.. Let's do this!” He sounded much more confident now about this whole situation which made Sam even happier. On the drive to his parents house Sam could tell that he was getting more nervous. He gently put a hand on his thigh to comfort him “It's gonna be okay dear. I'm gonna be right there beside you..” Ronald didn't say anything, all he did was take a quick look at him and smiled. Still nervous but that smile told Sam that he was okay and that's all he cared about. 10 minutes later they finally made it to their house “you still nervous?” asked Sam

“yeah.. Just a little!” he tried to sound calm but really he was a shaking mess “hey.. You don’t have to do this.. We can always do it on text?” Sam insisted “No.. feel like ive hid this for way too long.. They need to know.” Sam smiled at his bravery and held his hand. Ronald knocked on the door and his parents were at the door right away “oh look at how big my son is getting!” She hugged him tightly. Ronald was embarrassed and Sam couldn’t help but laugh. “Hey son! Been a bit” they exchanged handshakes cause he knows how strong her hugs are. “Who's this?” Ronald’s mom asked, looking at Sam. His heart sank being looked at by the two. But he kept his posture still and smiled “mom.. Dad.. this is my boyfriend..” Ronald said with some enthusiasm to make him sound more braver. Nobody said a word for a few minutes until someone broke the silence. “Are.. you guys okay?” Ronald asked “you are forbidden from this house! I will not let some homo in my house!” Both his parents stormed in and slammed the door on their faces. “Those- assholes!” Sam spat out. “It was expected” Ronald just let out a laugh and started heading to the car “you mean.. You don't care?” Sam was honestly surprised to see him not even drop a single tear. “Nah, I'm just happy I don't have to go to their house again” he laughed. Sam didn't mind really.. As long as Ronald was okay.. He was okay. With that all out of the way they went home and celebrated Christmas their own way. And neither of them regretted what they did. Their love was still so strong.. And only got stronger.
