Are you the light of the Empire, Princess Amaryllis?”

It was time for the sun to set.

Princess Amaryllis, the light of the Empire, was enjoying her dessert time leisurely in her room.

Breaking such a peaceful time, an unidentified man, wearing a black mask, landed at the window, facing opposite to the sunset.

“Kyaa!!”

“G-guards!!”

The maids, who were guarding Amaryllis, screamed one by one in shock.

Some of them rushed to her side and immediately wrapped her in a protective embrace.

She was the princess worshiped as the light of the Empire, the rising star of light from the prophecy given to Firenze.

The neighboring countries, which wanted to stop the Firenze Emperor Orwen from becoming the hegemon of the continent, allied themselves with one another.

To assassinate the light of the empire and prevent Firenze from being given more and more power.

So this wasn’t necessarily the first time Amaryllis was the victim of an attempted assassination.

Rather, it could be said that for her it was now natural for an unidentified intruder to appear.

However, this was by far the first person to come to the palace at sunset rather than midnight, when the defense of the palace was lowered.

He’s either a man of outstanding ability or a fool who’s not good at calculating the perfect time to come.

“You came a little early today, didn’t you? I am Amaryllis, Uninvited Masked Mister.”

The silver-haired girl who looked noble at first glance, surrounded by maids on both sides, smiled brightly and waved at the masked intruder.

It was a really bright smile, not showing a hint of fear.

“Huh? Maybe the princess knew I was coming? You seem very relaxed.”

“It’s because I am the light of the Empire.”

“Are you not afraid of death, Princess? If I had properly made up my mind, the moment I entered this room I would have closed your eyes forever.”

“I am not afraid, because the moment you point your sword at me, it will be you, not me, who will forever close their eyes.”

“…Haha, let’s check now whether these words are the princess’s last ones or not.”

The masked man came down from the window and walked one step at a time towards Amaryllis.

And it was when he quietly pulled out a long sword hanging over his waist.

“My brother, Mirazen. Amaryllis is eating, but misses desserts and black tea.”

“…?”

As the tip of the sword, pulled out by the intruder, was pointed toward Amaryllis’ round forehead, she let out a small sigh and opened her mouth.

Looking at those bright peridot eyes that seemed to have no hint of fear, it became clear how those words were not directed at the intruder.

Nor was it her last will to her maids.

“Quietly put away your sword and go away.”

As soon as Amaryllis finished speaking, a silver-haired young man appeared before everyone’s eyes.

He aimed the tip of his sharp sword at the intruder’s neck.

The terribly cold, bitter red eyes clearly showed that he was very, very angry with the current situation.

“Haha, I see. With the famous Crown Prince by your side, I understand that you have nothing to fear!”

“You seem to know quite a bit about us. What is your identity? Are you aiming at Lily under the instigation of the Allies?’

“…”

“Why did you come at a time when there are a lot of eyes instead of at midnight? Were you that confident in your abilities? Or did you underestimate the security in the Imperial Palace?”

“…”

The intruder kept his mouth shut.

No matter what question Mirazen asked, his mouth would not open.

He simply looked into his eyes whilst showing interest at any question directed to him.

“If you don’t say it yourself, I’ll take it as correct soon enough.”

“Ha… hahaHAHAHA! When you ask me for the reason, I will answer that there was something I wanted to check, so I rushed here” said the intruder, laughing like a madman.

“…something you wanted to check?”

“It’s rumored that Your Highness Mirazen is good at combat magic using the Rocheblers language, so I was wondering whether the new magic I learned this time would work on you.”

“That is something funny. Whether the magic you brought works on me or not, death is still the only way left for you to get out of here.”

“That would be the highest honor for me, High Little Sun of the Empire.”

The masked intruder bowed slightly, as if to show courtesy and greeted politely.

“Ahwestroke!”

And the moment he lifted his head up, he shouted and Mirazen’s world became enveloped in red.
