After Dusk

Chapter 2

After the very weird encounter in the kitchen, I ate as fast as I could and went to my room to have a nap but of course, those couldn't shut up so I ended up taking my headphones and playing my Spotify playlist.

By the time I woke up, I only had an hour till I have to go to practice just enough to study for my test the next week. As I was just starting to take my books out a knock sounded on my door.

"Yea?"

Toma opened the door dressed up in jeans and a T-shirt. "I'm going with Joško and some friends to the bar so tell mum and dad when they come back."

"I have to go to practice Toma so I'm leaving as well in half an hour."

"OK then just text them."

"You have a phone, you can do that by yourself." God, he makes me bang my head against the wall sometimes.

"Fine but I won't take the house key so you know to let us in."

"Not why is it so hard to take a bloody key I am not getting up to let you two geniuses in the house at the break of dawn. Some of us have school in the morning."

"Jesus, is it that hard to let us in a house?"

"Yes at 4 in the morning!"

He didn't answer just turned around and left the room and left the door open. Groaning I got up from my chair and shut the door. Damn if mum was here now I would be dead for smashing the door. Sitting back down I started studying and a few minutes later heard the front door close. Good, they are finally gone.

After finishing my studying and taking my bag I went out of the house to practice. I really couldn't stop thinking about the interaction between Gvardiol and me from a few hours earlier. It was odd I have never seen him like that, the only ever close interaction between us was when he would purposely knock into me in school. Ah, who the hell knows what is going on in his brain honestly who cares.

Being so lost in thought the walk to the gym felt so short so I immediately went to the locker rooms to change into my training gear. A few minutes later my best friend Kiara, late as always, entered.

"Did you hear?!"

"Well hi to you too and what are you talking about?"

"The football team is coming in two weeks to Maksimir for preparations for the World Cup imagine we saw them!" Kiara almost shouted at me in excitement.

"Oh yeah, I've heard." And I have to live with the biggest asshole of them for two weeks.

"You don't seem too excited."

"Well it's exciting definitely but they will spend most of their time in practice, recovery and the hotel resting so you won't get to see them. And you should change practice starting in 3 minutes."

"You never know, they might decide to let loose and go somewhere to drink."

I just smiled at that and started walking to the gym for volleyball practice.
