After some disagreement and arguing, Loki had finally managed to convince Thor to let me leave with them.
Everything had been new and beautiful to me. The power of the Bifrost, and stepping onto the bridge connecting the Bifrost to Asgard. I stopped in the door, frozen as my eyes roamed across the land before me. It was exactly like my memories showed, with stars and planets enveloping the sky above us.
"It's beautiful..." I whispered, starstruck.
"I know," Loki replied, watching me. I looked over at him and grinned.
Thor shoved us forward, grunting his displeasure. "Come on, Odin is waiting."
"Odin?" I squeaked but walked beside Loki across the bridge. I stared, wide-eyed as I looked below our feet, watching the magic of the bridge glow beneath my shoes.
"Yes, Odin. He'll deliver Loki's punishment for his crimes." Thor continued on, trying to urge me faster. Loki just settled into the pace I set, my eyes and mind trying to take everything in as fast as possible, yet also feeling the familiarity of the place.
"Yes, Thor...we all know how badly you want to punish me, it's your wet dream," Loki replied smoothly, rolling his eyes.
I shook my head, hiding my smile as we continued on.
It took a long while to finally make it to the throne room of the castle, but I hardly noticed any fatigue in the walk. I was too mystified by everything and the things I remembered.
Thor grabbed my arm as we came to the doors, soldiers pushing them open. "Stay here," he warned, "We shall deal with Loki's punishment first. Then we'll deal with you." He grunted, letting me go.
I rubbed my arm where he grabbed me, grumbling. "Is he always so grumpy?" I asked Loki before he was pulled away by Thor and pushed ahead of him. The two guards that had opened the door now came forward, each grabbing a chain from Loki's restraints. I grunted, displeased with the way they treated him.
They pushed him forward to go first, and I watched as more guards came up, following after them into the throne room. I dared to watch around the corner of the door as they made their way to Odin.
I gasped, eyes wide as I watched Loki make his way towards his father. It was hard to see him from so far away, but I could tell who it was.
I watched as Loki seemed to speak to someone to the side I couldn't see, and he spoke too quietly for me to hear what was said.
"Enough!" Odin grumbled, and I jumped. I wish I could get closer, so I could hear this properly.
Loki's back was in clear sight, and I giggled as he made his silly sarcastic stance gesture, and then laughed. At least he seems to be at ease, I thought, worrying my lip.
Thor grumbled behind me, shifting his feet. "Quiet," he muttered, clenching and unclenching his hands.
I grumbled back at him, "you be quiet." I strained to hear what was said but was taken aback when Odin's voice echoed across the halls again.
"Your birthright was to die!" Odin's voice echoed through the halls.
My eyes widened and I glanced over at Thor. I remembered what Loki had told me about being an orphan, and I was smart enough to know at the time that if he hadn't been found, he would have died, and yet, my heart still ached for him.
Thor looked at me curiously, and I growled, clenching my hands. "Will you not defend your brother?" I asked, hissing.
"Of course not, he has done the crimes he chose, it's his fault for upsetting our father."
