Love Me

{1960}

The past 2 years were horrible! I missed Elvis so much. it's hard to be away from someone you love for that long. There were nights when I longed to be in his arms, so I could know that I was safe, I craved his touch. I was just ready to have him come home to me so I would know he was safe!

I was still asleep. I hadn't got much sleep since Elvis left, it was hard to sleep in an empty bed. Vernon and Joe decided to surprise me by picking Elvis up and bringing him to me.

Vernon and Joe pulled up to the airport. Elvis was standing in his uniform, waiting with his suitcase. When he saw the car pull up he went outside to greet them.

"Where's my baby girl?" he asked, after hugging them

"She's at home, asleep" Joe said, "She hasn't slept much since you left" Vernon added

"Poor thing, she's probably exhausted"

"Let's get you home to her!" Vernon said

I had just woke up and got dressed to go pick up Elvis. When all of a sudden I saw the car pull up. I was confused?? I walked outside and immediately made eye contact with Elvis!!! we both stopped and stared at each other smiling. Then I ran into his arms

"Baby I missed you so much!" he cried, while spinning me around

He then put me down and gave me a big kiss and another hug.

"I think we'll leave you two alone" Joe said as he and Vernon went inside

"So, what do you want to do for your first day home?" I asked

"Mmmm baby, all I want to do is lay in my own bed and take a nap with you" he mumbled into my neck, making me giggle

"That sounds like a good idea since we both need to catch up on sleep"

He picked me up, bridal style, and carried me to our room. When we got there he laid me on the bed, shut the door, and jumped in bedside me. He took off his uniform so he was only in his boxers and I was only in a tank top and my underwear. He was laying on his side with his arms around me as I snuggled up to him.

"Honey you really don't understand how much I missed you. I couldn't sleep at all because of my insomnia and then when I woke up and you weren't beside me, I worried" he said stroking my hair

"You don't have to worry anymore. Now I will be right beside you every night when you go to sleep and every morning when you wake up" I smiled at him while running my fingers through his hair

"I love you so much baby" he whispered

"I love you even more!" I said playing with his lips

We made out and played around for a while. Then we cuddled next to each other, he was on his side and I was backed up against him with his arms around me and his face buried in my neck. We slept against each other for almost 5 hours.

When we got up, we both had huge smiles on our faces, then we went downstairs. When we got there, Mary and a few other people had fixed us an amazing dinner. It was good for Elvis to have a good home cooked meal since he hadn't had one for 2 years.
