I never thought I would actually say it. But, I miss the train. I miss the sound of creaking metal. I miss being around people. Hell, I even miss the fucking protein blocks.
It really takes being in a frozen wasteland for a year for me to appreciate what I had. Sure, the train was terrible and a grade-A hell hole. But, it was the only home I had for eighteen years. My family was on the train; Edgar, Tanya, Gilliam. Now, my family is gone. My home is gone. My life is gone.
But, I have a new life now. A new family. And, a new home. This frozen wasteland is my home. This man, two orphans, and a baby are my family. And surviving is my new life.
In this new world. This...frozen block of ice and snow. There's only two things you can do. You can die. Whether it's by starvation, freezing, or being ripped apart by wild animals, is your choice. Or, you can fight and survive. Because, even though humans are the minority, our basic instinct is still alive and thriving.
Survival.
We have to throw away what ever morals we have left. There's no room for that. Morals get in our way of surviving, they slow us down and make us weak. We must become predators, so as not to become prey. We have to fight, tooth and nail, and claw our way back to the top.
The human race has been gone for almost two decades.
It's time to take back the Earth. Or die trying.
A/N: Here it is folks! The sequel to Warmth! I've been waiting for the right time to start publishing, because I've been working on a different fan fiction. But, I figured now would be a good time to start! Shoutout to Sly_Sleeper for another amazing cover! Thanks for sticking with this story, hope you guys enjoy!
P.s. Sorry the prologue is so short, I just needed a set up. Lol.
