"After 3 whole months, the world tour of the biggest kpop girl group ends with a success. Fans from around the world have shown positive responses; satisfied with their wonderful performances after a year of hiatus,"

Videos and pictures of Blackpink's world tour were shown on the screen of the television, summoning a genuine smile of happiness and pride on the girl's face.

"On the other news,"

But slowly did it falter and fade upon the announcement of the second news.

"After months of battling with the court, the famous scientist duo Lee Minho and Kim Go Eun are sentenced to life imprisonment. Despite claiming that it was 'for the betterment of the society,' the judge and the jury, along with the public, have found their human experiments cruel and inhumane..."

Tears welled up and her lips quiver. They are tears of joy. But before they could even fall, kids came barging inside her room, giggling and laughing like the bundle of joy they are.

"Y/n! Y/n!"

Y/n wipes her tears and then took them in their arms.

"Yes?" She smiles.

"It's dinner time! Come on, come on! We have to eat or the tummy monster will get angry!" A boy around the age of seven says, pulling her right arm. The other children follow.

"Okay okay," Y/n stands, giggling as well, as she lets the kids drag her to the long dining table.

It was already filled with other children of different ages; eating, fighting, and chattering loudly. She sat beside those she have grown close with for the past month, gladly helping the youngest ones with their food.

And as she looks around the table, glancing at every other child, her smile couldn't get any wider.

This is family— they are family.

A family y/n never had in this lifetime.

They may not be blood-related; they may all be orphans, but their bond and relationship with each other say otherwise.

No, the orphanage is not a depressing place.

It is sanctuary

It has been her sanctuary after that faithful event.

The day she have become an orphan and was sent to an orphanage since she is still a minor and had no known relatives.

And so far, 3 months have already passed. Still, she has been waiting for the day they'd come back for her.

Sure, there were doubts considering their status in life. But y/n wanted to give them a second chance, to see whether they'll fulfil their promise or break her trust in them once more.

"Y/n?" Calls one of the caretakers, motioning for her to come.

Finished with her dinner, she leaves the table and follows the woman, who has led her through the halls and into the orphanage's office.

The man running the said place greeted her with a warm smile, "How have you been so far?"

"Still adjusting to this new life, sir," Was y/n's reply.

The man nodded with a hum, "That's great,"

"Why do you want to see me, sir?"

"Well, as you can see, I have called you here to inform you that... you're getting adopted,"
