Until Next Time, Helena

When My Radio woke me up, Elvis Preseley's song, Such a Night was bursting in my ear. My 9 year old Sister, Michael got really mad because she said that it wasn't cool enough. She really hated Elvis for some reason. Michael adored me very much but she still had some growing up to do. It was summer vacation but that would be ending soon. I desperately need friends to hang out with, this place was so boring! We just moved to this new town called Lilac and My mom was still settling in.

We used to live in the country but Dad got a new job and he said that we would have better opportunities in Lilac. Me and Micheal have never been out of our little town except to go to school but other than that we never left. We moved about three weeks about but I'm adjusting very well! Well I'd like to think so.

"Helena!! Darling, come to the kitchen please!" My mother yelled. Michael continuously pulled at my shirt to get me out of bed. "Alright alright. Im up." I told her as I open my eyes only to find Michaels big brown eyes looking back at me. I pat her head and get up.

When I got into the kitchen there was a girls uniform laying on the kitchen table.

"Mom whats this?" I picked it up to get a better look at it. Its a baby blue blazer with a grey plaid skirt that goes to my thighs. Along with socks varying different lengths. "Well honey, you start at a new private school that just opened up. You know school starts back up soon. You need to be prepared." To be completely honest the uniform is actually really cute so I don't mind to much but the part thats worrying me is the people... Ive made no friends yet and no ones tried to approach me either.

"Hey Helena? I found some money in the park the other day do you want to go get candy?" Michael asked. "Moms gonna kill you if she finds out," I paused and she started blushing in embarrassment, "but hey, we all need something that'll brighten up our day." I laughed and we then we made our way to the liquor store down the street.

"Wooowww!!" Michael was so astounded by all of the candy she couldn't contain herself. "Oh come on Micky, lets go! Moms gonna know somethings up if we don't hurry!" Michael just shoed me off. I walked around the store to try and keep myself busy but in all honesty there wasn't much to look at. I heard some mumbling over the next isle and it sounded like these people were fighting.

"Hey!!!" A guy yelled and all my attention suddenly turned into these two people. I found myself walking over the next isle. It was a younger girl and an older boy. The young girl was beautiful! She had short hair but it was naturally curly so it really worked for her. As I walk down the isle some more the boy turns his attention to me. As he turns I feel my face get hot. He was the most cutest boy I have ever seen! With his sweet blonde hair and grey eyes. "S..So...Sorry to bother you but is everything... uhm, okay?" I mustered out. He gave me a harsh look and brushed me off. "Yeah everything's fine." I suddenly felt really embarrassed. What was I doing!? "Sorry."

The younger girl looked at me with a bright smile, "Its alright. I'm Tiger and this big 'ol meany is my big brother Zach." He looked uninterested in what I had to say but i introduced myself as well. "I'm Helena-" I was interrupted by a tiny voice, "and I'm Michael!!" Thats when my face got red with embarrassment once again. I had totally forgot about her!! Oh god, Moms gonna kill me. She had chocolate all over her mouth. Once she got to where we all were, she wiped her face and stuck her hand out proudly towards Tiger. Why is she so embarrassing!?

"I've never seen you before. Did you guys just move here?" Zach asked.

"Y-Yeah. We moved here about a week ago." I lied, "But we've been helping my mom with unpacking and stuff." I told him. "Where do you guys plan to go to school? Most schools start next week." Tiger asked.

"Im going to Kira Elementary! and Helena will go to Carden Academy." Michael said. Tigers eyes lit up and hugged Michael. "Im so excited. Thats the school I go to. I have a feeling we're going to be great Friends!"

That brought my attention back to zach. "Is that where you'll be going too?" I asked him. He nodded. He said something under his breath but The look on his face told me not to ask. As the sun was setting, I quickly got a shot of energy. "Oh my god Michael. we have to go! Now! We're going to be late."

She gave me a dirty look. But Tiger gave me a sweet smile. "Zach do you have a pen?" Tiger asked. He gave her a glare and responded, "Now why would I have a pen. Im not a nerd!" She slapped his arm and muttered, "you're so useless..." thats when she went to the cashier and grabbed the pen off the counter. She then grabbed Michaels hand and wrote down her number. "Here. Call me tomorrow, I want to be friends." Michael nodded and waved goodbye. We bought our candy and ran out the store. But i didn't care that we were about to get in trouble. All I could think about was Zach. He was so cute and I couldn't wait to start school with him.
