Ma'lani's POV

"WAKE UP LANII" her mother yelled from downstairs. 

Today was the day they were moving because my mother lost her job and can't afford to live out here in Miami, so we are going to live with my cousins in New York. 

"IM UP" I yelled back at my mom. 

I actually got up and went to the bathroom and began my morning routine then hopping in the shower. When I got out I put on a cropped wife beater and black ethika leggings with my ugg slides. I picked up all the bags in my room, taking a look at it one last time.

"well heres to new begginings" I sighed leaving my room, walking downstairs glancing at the house on last time. 

"you ready" my mom asked 

"as ill ever be" I said 

We put all of our bags in the back of the moving van which would be delivered in a couple days but keeping a bag of clothes just in case it doesn't there in time. 

"New York here I come" I said sighing. 

**SKIP TO WHEN SHES IN FRONT OF HER COUSINS HOUSE**

"mae call your cousins to come help us" my mom said 

"alr" I said pulling out my phone about to call when I here a loud girly scream, I look around trying to figure out where it's coming from. Finding the noise coming from a group of boys with one running in front of the others while they are laughing at him. I looked at little harder to see if I could see the boys face but they were to far away.  I giggled under my breath and called my cousins, Aria and Nia. They came outside and helped us with the bags but being on the plane all day I felt hungry with it now being 3 in the afternoon. 

"yo I'm hungry as fuck" I said holding my stomach

"we havent went shopping in a while we aint got no food" Aria said looking at me. 

"you lyin" I said looking at her. 

I looked at the younger girls and rolled my eyes at them. 

"we can go to the deli though" Aria said. 

"what tf is that" I said looking at them 

"its like corner store with food" Nia said. 

"oh yeah I wanna go there" I said fast putting my shoes back on, grabbing my cash out my backpack putting in the back of my phone. 

"les go then" Nia said 

We all walked out the door, walking down the noisy streets of new york. I looked around taking in the new neighborhood I live in. While looking, I see a building on the corner with bright lights. 

"is that it" I said pointing at the building.

"yeah" aria said. 

Now being at the deli we walked in it being completetly empty except for worker that welcomed us as we walked in. I instantly went to the chip area to see what what they had, while I was looking I heard stores bell ring meaning someone was in here but, I didnt think much of it. I finally see the chips I want but I couldn't reach them. Now I know what you thinking "bitch yo ass cant reach chips", I know i'm litterally 4'11 what you want me to do. I rolled my eyes and looked for Nia since she was the tallest of all of us,  to get the chips. I turned around to meet someones chest making them drop what was in their hands. 

"omg Im so sorry, I didnt see you" I said bending down to pick up what they dropped. 

"you good ma" a curly headed boy said to me. 

GIRLLLLL he was bout  fine asf. I looked at him while smiling. 

"whats your name" he said looking down on me.

"lani" I said smiling. 

"I think ima just call you ma" he said making eye contact with me. 

He walk to behind me and grabbed the bag of chips I wanted. 

"I saw you stuggling " he said walking away. 

I looked at him walk away pay for his stuff then walk out. I went up to the register and payed for my stuff as well and walked out to see Nia and Aria waiting for me. 

"finally you took years in there" Nia said getting up from the bench in front the deli. 

"I couldnt reach my chips" I said thinking about the mysterious boy who got me the chips.

"how did you get them then" Aria said.

" a boy helped me" I said opening my chips eating them while walking until heard somebody call out "WAIT". I looked behind me to see the same boy that helped me but he was with two other boys. 

"thats him" I said

" he cute, get with him" Nia said 

"i just met him ntm" I said rolling my eyes as they got closer. 

"yall looking good today" A boy with messy twists said specifically looking at Nia. 

"mh you sound slow js shut up" A boy with a raspy voice said.

"i'm not over here for no games" the mysterious boy said looking at me.

"can I get yo number" He asked me. 

"yeah gimme yo phone" I said smilin on the inside. 

I typed my number in and saved my contact as " LaniiMae" and gave him the phone back. 

"whats your name" I asked him.

"thats mad fed but I cant tell you" he said.

"when do I get to know your name" I asked him.

"when I call you later" He said walking away with his homies that were still arguing over there little rizz arguement. 

I looked at the girl smiling real hard. I think I like him already and I don't even know his name. What is he doing to me?
