No one can ever prepare you for waking up cuddled next to someone you love. But here I was waking up at 6 am in Tony's arms.
Last night had been great we had watched movies, ate pizza and just talked about life.
Over the last few years, I had heard bits and pieces of Tony's life. But last night it was like he was an open book. He told me about his childhood, the love for his mother, but his absent father. He told me how his dad had left a video for him saying that Tony was the best thing he had ever created. It made me tear up a bit.
I, like Tony, lost my parents. If I were to ever find a video like that, I know it would mean the world to me. But I wont ever get that and I'm okay with that.
Tony had continued on to tell me about Obadiah and how he became Iron man original. He told me about the battle of NY and the battle against Ultron.
I could understand his fears at the time and it made perfect sense why he had done the things he did, that didn't mean Tony wasn't misguided or right, but it did make sense.
I looked up a bit and saw his sleeping frame. Tony was cute when he slept. There was no worry on his face, no signs of distress and it made me happy. Tony had told me many times before that he had trouble sleeping caused by PTSD and nightmares.
"You're starring." He mumbled softly, making me jump at knowing that I had been caught. Before I could move out of his grip, he shifted down till his head rested comfortably on my shoulder. "5 more minutes." He muttered next, not even half awake. I smiled, using my free hand to rake my fingers through his hair.
"As long as you need Tones." I whisper softly hoping not to wake him up much more. I heard a grumble in response before his breathing evened out again and his soft snores were heard. I could get used to this.
After 20 more minutes I decided I needed to get up and ready for the day, even if Tony slept in.
"Love?" Tony grumbled half awake.
"Good morning Bubs, go back to sleep, I'm going to go downstairs and make some breakfast." I told him as I gave him a kiss on the cheek.
"Okay." Tony quietly mumbled as he quickly fell back asleep. I walked out of the room and then realized I had kissed his cheek. I closed my eyes tightly and cringed a bit. That's not right, no its not that it's not right. It's just not normal. I take a deep breath and head down to the kitchen. When I got down there I saw Wanda and Nat cooking.
"Good morning you two! Do you need help with breakfast?" I ask walking over to them.
"Nope, we got it." Wanda says turning to me with a smile. I nod my head. I wasn't feeling to hungry. I decided to grab a to-go cup of coffee and an apple.
"I'm gonna see if I can fix that prototype some more. So, if you all need me I'll be in the lab." I tell the girls before spinning around and heading towards the door. It was rare Tony slept this much so I would do what I could in the labs in order to help lessen his work load for this week.
As I entered the lab I was shocked to see someone standing there. A man I hadn't seen in years but heard a lot about through Tony over the years. Though, I'm not sure Tony ever did a background check to see his relations to me.
"Uncle." I said quietly as I see the all black outfit tied together with the black trench coat. The bald head didn't help much either.
"That's Director, Director Fury to you, YN." I set my coffee cup down as I watched his moves. Uncle Fury wasn't blood. He was close friends with my parents and when they died on a SHIELD mission Fury took it as his job to take care of me.
"No, I don't work for you." I stated as calmly as I could.
"But you could. You have more intellect then Tony, and more training than HYDRAs former number 1 assassin. You would be a great asset and a great soldier."
"I don't want to be a soldier. I just want to be happy. My parents were shield soldiers and look what happened to them." I stated as I watched him move around the room. His hands were gliding over every surface he walked by.
"Alright, you don't want to be a solider, but what about an Avenger?"
"There's not much difference between the two, now is there?" Fury hummed in response as he picked up a pen off of Dr. Banner's desk.
"There is some, Avengers arent owned by anyone. The Accords were denied by majority vote. Avengers have the free will to choose who and where they fight. I don't need an answer right now, but I do expect you to think on it." As he finished speaking he threw the pen straight at me. My instincts took over and I held it just inches away from my face. After I know I had it I look back to see Fury no longer here. Asshole.
