Chapter 4. secrets unfolds

"Nadwe you know not to mess with my father."
Muffin sighed.

"Why should I care? I bet you're having fun spending time with Blaza."
Nadwe crossed his arms stubbornly.

"What- are you jealous that I've met someone like me?"
Muffin gasped.

"No- I mean it's just that... you seem to want some sort of validation with the prince."
Nadwe leaned on the bars facing the wall.

"What!? N- it's just Blaza is the first prince I've ever actually met, and he's just like me! How is he so carefree!? He's like a big brother from a far far away kingdom."

Muffin sat down facing away from Nadwe.

"Blah blah blah."
Nadwe mocked Muffin.

"ARGH why do you always have to be so stubborn!" Muffin snatched Nadwe's shirt in anger.

"Well maybe if you'd pay more attention to me I don't have to feel so left out!"
Nadwe shouted back.

Muffin loosened his grip, he curled his hand into a fist.

"Well...Sorry that I can't hang out with someone else once in a while!"
Muffin punched Nadwe in the nose (not too hard)

Nadwe fell back as his hat fell off his head while his nose started to bleed a little.

"Ow.."
Nadwe rubbed his cheeks trying to hold in tears.

"What the-"
Muffin looked at Nadwe in shock, he didn't exactly have ears- wait bat ears?!

"Don't look at me-!"
Nadwe covered his bat ears with his hands, Nadwe's ears flattened with fear? Muffin wasn't so sure.

"Wait Nadwe I'm sorry- I-I didn't mean to hurt you- but what's with the ears?!"

Muffin tried to reach for Nadwe.

"Just leave me alone... I'll tell you everything later... but you probably think I'm a monster now.."

"What for?! Aren't you still human?"

"Muffin you idiot can't you see I'm part vampire!"
Nadwe opened his mouth showing some sharp teeth.

"Yeah I can see it now, I just needed to brighten up the mood a bit, all this tension hurts me."
Muffin sighed.

Nadwe blinked before laughing.

"Alright, are we good now?"
Muffin chuckled a little.

"Of course."
Nadwe sighed.

"But how long will I be free?"
Nadwe asked, rubbing the blood off his nose.

"Soon, but I'll be at the show, and it's starting."

"Alright I'll see you later then."

Muffin got up and headed over to the show.

At the show:

Blaza did some juggling, dancing, and tricks with Spark as the crowd cheered loudly for Blaza.

Muffin watched the show in the crowd, a few guests greeted Muffin but one that caught Muffin's attention was this;

A tall fancy man walked over to Muffin.

"Greetings Prince Muffin, nice evening hm?"

Muffin nodded.

"Say, have you seen my son? He's very sweet, I'm wondering if you have any sibling in more specific sisters hm?"

"Uhm, I haven't seen your son sir but also why would you ask about that..?"
Muffin asked politely.
