It was another day at school. Zhymeer sat at his desk, bored out of his mind. It was just one more period until 6th.. One more period before he gets to see Jose. He tapped some pencils against his desk, and the teacher yelled at him. Again.

"I really need to catch a break in this school," Zhymeer thought to himself, and his mind couldn't help but wander to thoughts about Jose. These thoughts about Jose were... strange, to Zhymeer. They included both him and Jose, locking fingers as they walked down the hall to 6th period.

While Zhymeer was lost in thought, Khalil noticed him zoning out. He snapped his fingers in front of Zhymeer's face, bringing Zhymeer back into reality.

"Zhymeer, Zhymeer! What are you thinking about that's so important!" Khalil whisper-yelled at Zhymeer, to not get yelled at by the teacher again. Zhymeer shook his head and smiled at Khalil, waving his hand. "Oh it was nothing! Heh, yep, nothing.." He kicked his legs under his desk, trying to distract himself from class until the bell rang. He stared at the unfinished work on his desk, considering whether he should do it or not. He decided not to - this school wasn't worth his time. It was the last few minutes of class, even if he had decided to start he wouldn't finish in time. He began to pack up early, and was scolded by the teacher, third time this day.

"Zhymeer! There are still two minutes of class left! Sit yourself down right now!" Zhymeer rolled his eyes and scoffed, slumping back into his seat. Khalil prodded Zhymeer with his elbow, and looked at him with a grin. "Just a few more minutes before I get to see Yared!" He exclaimed with gleaming eyes. Khalil was obviously in love with Yared, and Zhymeer just shrugged it off. "Yeah, yeah, lovebirds" He said under his breath, and the class began to stand up just a few seconds before the bell rang. Zhymeer grabbed his stuff, and the bell rang, allowing the class to empty.

Zhymeer and Khalil walked together, being friends, and they began to head to 6th period. Zhymeer dragged behind a little, his thoughts of Jose catching him off guard. Khalil noticed this, and turned around to face him. "What's the matter, Zhymeer? Are you upset because I'm in love and you're not?" He teased, playfully kicking at Zhymeer's shin. Zhymeer looked back up at Khalil and continued walking, rubbing his shin. "No, it's not that," he said dryly. Khalil just passed him by on his way to 6th, not wanting to be late. Zhymeer was left behind, with nothing but his thoughts. "Would he even... like like me?" He thought to himself, his anxieties getting to him. Middle school relationships were a complicated thing, teenagers experiencing emotions that were once foreign to them. Zhymeer, paused in his tracks, heard the bell ring. "Dang it." He remarked, only being around 15 seconds from Mrs. Bichon's room. She would take this easily, as Zhymeer has been late almost every day since school started.

At the doorway, Mrs. Bichon began to tell him off with quick succession.

"Zhymeer! We have been going to school since August and you're still late?! What is going on?!" The same boring lecture every day, Zhymeer brushed her off, walking somewhere important. He cracked a smile as he walked to his seat, knowing that he was right next to Jose, well, if Ethan wasn't there. Unfortunately, Ethan was there, blocking him off from direct contact with Jose.

"Zhymeer!! Hey!" Jose yelled, waving at him. Zhymeer meekly waved back, infatuated. He didn't know what to say or think, Jose was making him nervous just by saying hi!! He turned around in his seat, listening to Mrs. Bichon talk about how we needed to get our work done and stuff like that.

"More like Mrs. Bitch-on," He scoffed under his breath. He shook his head and opened his Chromebook, knowing well that he wasn't going to get any work done.
