"I already told you yesterday that I'm not going to that dinner tonight" Dylan scoffed without looking up from his laptop.

"Your father already makes it clear that you saying no is not an option, Ah Di" Wang Lin sighed and sat down across Dylan's desk.

"He certainly doesn't know me if he thinks that he could force me to go through this" He bitterly laughed. He still didn't understand why this arrangement suddenly came out of blue. What was his father thinking?

"Well, he did manage to make you go once, didn't he?" Wang Lin blurted out too fast before she realized the intensity of that phrase. When she saw Dylan stopped typing and closed his eyes, she realized she shouldn't have mentioned that.

"Then tell me what you want me to do, Ma? Do you guys want me to forget everything that happened, forget the girl I love and just go through with that??! Is that what you want?" Wang Lin felt her heart broke when she saw Dylan opening his eyes and looked at her with his frustrated yet broken expression.

"I never know you can be this dramatic, Di."

Dylan turned to the home office door when he heard his sister's voice. Dee Hsu was leaning on the door shaking her head and looking at him with an amused smile. Did she seriously call him dramatic when he laid his heart out to them? He narrowed his eyes at her, as she walked across the room and plopped herself on the sofa.

"Who are you calling dramatic here, Jie?? Do you even hear yourself? You already know why I reacted this way. This arrangement is nonsense! And you expect me to say yes and entertain the bullshit idea of matchmaking when I already have who I love and want?!" Dylan was frustrated. Why didn't they understand him? I thought they, of all people, should understand him the most and how much he loved Yue. There's no way He would betray her even though they already technically broke up. There's no way he would go through this matchmaking nonsense.

"Woah woah woah, stop there lil bro. Who said you have to entertain the matchmaking idea? Stop with your wild imagination or all those scenarios of forced marriage," Dee Hsu laughed and shook her head. She laughed even harder when she saw Dylan's expression as if asking her what the heck was she talking about.

"Do explain how is it not the case?" Dylan was even more confused when he saw his mother's amused face just like his sister. What was she trying to say? Wasn't this a matchmaking?

"I mean yes that is the intention, but it doesn't mean you have to go through it that way. For sure, this dinner is not gonna be called off, so you can either go there and tell that potential suitor respectfully that you're not interested, or you go MIA and ditch her. And you of all people should know better what could be the consequences of ditching this kind of dinner. If you go, you can make your intention clear to that party and our father, don't you think so?" Dee Hsu and Wang Lin were trying not to laugh when they saw the wheels turning in Dylan's head.

"Right! How come I didn't think of this?" Dylan abruptly stood up and smiled "Let's go through this and end it for once and for all!" He briskly jumped up to give his mother and sister a hug before walking out of his office with determined look on his face.

What he didn't see was the little fist bump his mother and sister had when he walked out the door.

Dylan stood with his arms crossed as he looked over the light that illuminated the Victorian style fountain at the back of the restaurant he's supposed to meet up with the suitor arranged by his father. He was determined to turn down and explain to whoever that person was immediately, so that he could get it over and go back home. He was glad that at least this dinner was arranged only between him and that person with no family involved. It certainly made thing a lot easier and less complicated.
