Two boys sat side-by-side; admiring each other's company. The rustic German bedroom, with its mundane lighting, queen bed, silk maroon sheets, and open bench window – a perfect breeze and view – gave the impression of a romantic setting. It was just that – romantic – but in a more sensual sense of the word. Rudolph, eldest of the two boys, sat with his right arm draped around the backside of his counterpart. His cheek rested upon fluffy blonde hair as his left hand fondled with the much warmer hand of his partner. Tony, the youngest and most alive of the two, had his head lying on Rudolph's collarbone. His left hand held his lover's and his right arm draped his hooded torso. Tony's emerald eyes were closed gently as he relaxed completely against Rudolph. He inhaled deeply as he readied to speak, catching the feeling of Rudolph's chest stress as he did so.
"Hey Rudy, what's your favorite flower?"
Tony sat up to look Rudolph in the eyes as he questioned him. He chuckled at the human's antics but answered anyway.
"Most flowers close at night – so I haven't gotten to see many," He paused and smiled "though, I do have a favorite."
Tony frowned and raised a brow, edging him on. "Well, are you gonna tell me?"
The question earned another chuckle and a squeeze from Rudolph.
"I would rather show you," He grinned a toothy grin and nodded toward the window. Tony nodded at the gentle request, and within mere moments, they were soaring through the crisp night air.
The full moon showed brightly as the pair gazed over fields of grass, forests of trees, and hills and meadows. The two slowed to a stop and Tony gazed in awe at a field of seemingly iridescent, blossoming daisies – all of which were following the light path of the moon. Farther up the field, a small forest of Willow trees grew. Each tree is bent and curved in its own unique and picturesque way. Rudolph led Tony through the field of little flowers – smiling and dragging his free hand gently over a few as he walked – to the most prominent willow tree. He pulled them both down and glanced at Tony who was awe-struck.
"What do you think?" He asked, motioning to the flowers.
"They're beautiful. This is just-" Tony paused to take a deep breath, "-it's just.Wow."
He turned to look at his vampiric lover and found a gentle smile being shown towards him. He smiled back at Rudolph before crawling over and leaning against him.
"Do you think the flowers will be okay if I take a few to make a crown?"
Rudolph nearly burst out in a laughing fit, but instead asked, "Are you asking if they'll be okay emotionally?"
Tony shot him a ticked glare that softened in a heartbeat. The lover boys giggled over the miscommunication for a moment before Tony corrected Rudolph.
"No. I mean population-wise. Would it be okay if-" He was cut off by Rudolph pulling him into a tender side hug.
"Yes. The flowers'll be fine."
Rudolph rolled his eyes and released the blonde, who promptly went to plucking iridescent daisies.
A minute or two later, Tony approached Rudolph with a handful of daisies and a large grin. He sat down with his back to the large Willow and splayed out the daises with little care. As Tony began to weave, Rudolph watched with sharp eyes. The wind was soft and the forest stayed relatively quiet. Rustling willow branches and the whooshing of air through the grass were soft enough to waft the young vampire to sleep upon his partner's shoulder. When Tony finished the flower crown he set it gently on Rudy's head before leaning against the Willow and drifting to sleep as well.
Under the bright moonlight, two boys slept side-by-side; cherishing each other's company.
