"AHHHHHRGHHH STOP PULLING MY HAIR!!"

" What? can't survive a little beat-up queenie?"

" IM GONNA KILL YOU!!!"

" OH, MY GOD! SHUT UP!"

Norah, the eldest of the Kingsleys, was trying to get her sisters to shut up."Regan, to Reav's. Assyria, stay here and do not be a menace! I have 50 pages of assignments to complete before next semester and you two screaming into my ear is the last thing I want to deal with!".The twins just glared at each other before quietly departing. There was a moment of silence before Assyria started whining again.

"I'm soooo bored. Why is it taking so long for August to roll by?"

"The academy isn't as pleasant as you might think, sweetheart. It is one thing to get in but it's another to survive in there. It will present you with multiple challenges... and trust me it isn't going to be a joy ride-"

" Oh but you have nothing to worry about dear sister, I'm the daughter of Alice and Raymond Kingsley, one of the finest manipulators in all of Aspherdamia. I've got nothing to worry about." Assyria concluded as she plopped onto the bed. Norah opened her mouth to argue but decided to let it go as those 50 pages weren't going to complete themselves. She rolled her eyes she went back to work.

"Hey Norah, you do realise that you've left Regan with Reav... alone, right?"."Shit". Norah muttered as a scream erupted behind them.

"GET IT OFF OF ME!!" Regan screamed running into Norah's arms.

"There, there. It was just an illusion nothing to be scared of darling".Norah said as she brushed the "spider" off of Reagan's hair.

"This isn't funny". Norah glared at her brother who was laughing by the doorway. He shrugged as he exited the room. "I'll go". Assyria said, following Reav out of the room.

Regan let go of Norah and lunged herself onto the bed, face down."Sweetheart, are you alright? Listen Reav didn't mean to hurt you honey he's just a prankster, don't be upset". Norah said sitting beside Regan."That's not it!" she said through the pillows that covered her face. Norah pulled Reagan into a hug. " hey... it's ok, you can tell me whatever is bothering you, darling. I'm sister... that's what sisters do"."It's nothing much really... I guess I annoyed Reav with all my blabbering and he kinda told me that he can't wait for me to become 24 and go off to the palace.." Regan said through sniffles and tears.

Every hundred years, the magical realm and the scientific realm come together to select a leader to maintain peace and unity within both communities. Gemma de caelo, the gem that fell from heaven as they believe, keeps the holder alive until the next one is chosen. Every five hundred years, the gem declares a name, an almighty ruler capable of manipulating both magic and science and every single year it has been someone who had ruled before and passed away. the first ever almighty ruler was Adams Voltaire, the third ruler who was chosen to rule, however, he was long dead by the time the stone declared him as an almighty ruler, and it has happened so forth every single time. but, that year, when Raegan turned 10 years old, the gem decided to make an early announcement and declared Raegan as the next almighty ruler. Since was too small to comprehend, the elders of the community decided that she would learn and master both magic and technology and take over the throne once she is of age.

"Reav is an insensitive jerk and I know that you are not dumb enough to believe anything that comes out of his mouth".Regan chuckled as Norah brushed the strands of auburn hair out of her face. at that moment, Norah realised how similar yet different her sisters were. Despite being twins, Assyria had luscious golden locks while Regan had auburn ones. Assyria had tanned skin which she inherited from her mother's Italian background while Regan was as pale as snow, like her English father. Regan had a round face with freckles with Assyria had a sharp jawline and a square face. But, both of them had one thing in common. Their dichromatic eyes. One of them was one of the most stunning jade green coloured eyes you've ever seen, like the ones Norah and her father had, while the other was amber, like her mother and Reav's. A sudden wave of sadness hit her as she unlocked an old memory. " Umm... I know that you're probably reminiscing about our childhood or something but I think you need to realise that leaving me with Reav was one thing but leaving Assyria with Reav....I don't know how that gonna-" A loud boom shook the entire house before she could finish the sentence. Norah cursed under her breath as she ran into the hallway, and there they were, wands out, glaring at each other.

"WANDS AWAY! NOW!" Norah yelled as she slipped in between the creating a shield separating the two. Just then they heard the sound of a car pull up into the driveway. " Quick, grab the fix-it beans" Norah instructed as she ran to clean up the mess before her parents stepped in. " This isn't over, Siri ". Reav glared as he walked past Assyria. Raegan grabbed a jar filled with emerald beads, which she then threw at the mess.

"Vicissim" Norah said pointing her wand at the mess. the green orbs glowed as they kept everything back in its original place. any or every trace of a crack or a cut had repaired itself somehow.

Mrs Kngsley opened the front to find her four children beaming at her. She stopped in her track and raised an eyebrow."Nope, not gonna ask. not gonna ruin my good mood." she shook her head as she entered with a bunch of groceries. The kids ran to the trunk of the car to help their dad with the giant cardboard box he was carrying, which all of them failed miserably at.

" Levare". he said as he made a swift movement with his hand. The box lifted in the air and started moving forward with each step he took. With another flick of his hand, it landed smoothly on the living room floor. His children looked at him in awe and admiration as he did so. Casting spells with a wand was one thing, but casting it with your hands or even your mind took immense concentration and practice, that only the best of the best could master.

'Some day' they all thought to themselves. As they stood there smiling, thinking how lucky they are to have such amazing parents, they caught a glimpse of what was in the cardboard box. Their faces quickly became grim as they realised that it was their uniforms. Mrs Caulson, the academy's seamstress, has been stitching uniforms for all the students of the academy, since before they were born. But, she also makes the five times too loose."Yay! It's here already!" Assyria said sarcastically.

"Your dad.." she began as she gave their dad a side-eye. " ... had an argument with Mrs Caulson, so we had to get it stitched at the new store that opened a few blocks away from hers". Joy erupted in all of their faces as they lunged forward to grab their coats."MY BLAZER FITS ME!!" Reav shouted in excitement."You're the best, Dad!" They called out as they ran into their rooms with their clothes. Mr Kingsley grinned as he watched his kids scurry away. it didn't last long though, as it earned him a stern look from his wife."Love you, honey" he smiled warily as planted a kiss on his glaring wife's forehead.
