Chapter 16

Revenge

Bella's POV
The car ride was quiet, the only sounds coming from the engine and other cars. The tension was high enough to cut rope and I began to feel very uncomfortable.

Arriving back home was a huge relief and I almost jumped out of the car to get there. Leo follows me as I walk up to my house and after I unlock it I turn around. His eyes bore in to mine, showing an emotion not many have shown towards me. He looks as if he might miss my company.

The thought of him actually missing me made me feel bad but I knew I couldn't give in easy. I clear my throat and he snaps out of whatever trance he was in, "Umm, I just want to say sorry again." He apologises.

"Stop it. Don't apologise. Being in the mafia business, we have to do these things for our family name, don't apologise. Besides, I'm already planning on how I can get revenge." I say

He smiles as if he thinks I'm being sarcastic but when he sees I make no effort to laugh or say it's a joke, his smile turns into a frown and his eyes glint with anger. "What?" He demands.

I let out a laugh now, "Did you really think any of this meant something to me?" As he makes no comment, I continue, "You kidnapped me and made my best friend betray me and eventually try to rape me, the only reason I was cosying up to you was to make you think you were giving me a sense of comfort. And eventually to take me somewhere where I'd have the upper hand over you."

With that, I reach down to the floor and grab the small blade under the doormat and hold it against his throat. As I keep his neck at the tip of my blade his face fills with anger but his eyes show his true emotions, he feels betrayed.

Just as he is about to say something, 5 of my men burst round the side of the house and push him to the ground on his knees, as I ordered them.

"How did you do this?" He spits out.

"I've been planning this since day one. Enzo, you can come out now." I shout and watch as Enzo walks round the corner with a massive smirk on his face. Leo opens his mouth in shock as Enzo makes his way towards us.

"Did you really think Enzo would betray me? I'm the best sex he's ever had." As I say it, Enzo stands next to me and wraps his hand around my waist, "It's true." He states and I nod.

"You know that message that was anonymously sent to both of us and you thought it was me who sent it and I said 'It was you who sent it'. Yeah, well, that was Enzo. He's been helping me this entire time."

"You son of a bitch, how are you even here, we nearly killed you?" Enzo's smirk grows wider and I almost laugh.

"Did I forget mention he has a twin brother? Hyde?" Leo's face is filled with realisation after I say this. "Well, Hyde used to work for me, he actually did me. I didn't get revenge on him as a favour for Enzo since it's his brother. And I wasn't planning too until Enzo came up with the idea to use him. It was him who allegedly tried to rape me, and it was him who we tortured, that was just a bonus."

Leo looks like he could snap someone now if he could, "How could you?"

I smirk, "It's the mafia. We do what we have to, to survive. Lock him up." I order my men. Leo fights against his restraints and I turn around to let them push him through the door. "Don't forget to strip him of any weapons or devices to help him." I shout after them.

I turn to Enzo who is smiling down at me and I hug him, " I can't believe he actually thought you'd betray me, or that I'd warm up to him. Everything he thought he knew was a lie." I laugh and pull away.

We walk into the house and I take a deep breath in, glad to be home. I take a seat at the kitchen counter as Enzo grabs us both some water, "We need to come up with an excuse why Leo is missing." He states.

"Oh, that's easy, I'll just have someone hack into his accounts and broadcast a message saying he went out of town for business regarding me. No one knows it was all a setup apart from him."

Enzo nods, "Speaking of setup, I have a surprise for you." He drags me out of my seat and up the stairs.
We go into the biggest spare room in the house and I gasp as I see the transformation it has undergone. Books and bookshelves litter all the walls and a cosy reading space is set up in one of the corners.

I turn to him and smile, "You did not. This is incredible."

"I knew you'd like it, I thought you would want something nice and comforting after days not in your own house." I smile wider and say thank you before looking round at all the books. The sections are labelled: Sci-fi, Fantasy, Horror, Romance, Dark Romance and Classics.

Enzo stands behind me and wraps his arms around my waist, kissing my head. I turn around to face him and place my lips on his.

The kiss is slow and passionate but filled with so much need. He pulls us back and onto the couch, my legs straddling his waist as the kiss deepens. He tongue brushes over me lips, silently asking for entry and I grant it immediately. His tongue slides into my mouth and I gasp as I feel his erection press against my heat.

Massive plot twist.

You have to trust the process of this book, without this plot twist Bella would remain to be known as weak and not a good leader and I can't have that. We stan girl power.
