Vicki's POV
"So have you got everything? Enough clothes? Do you need more-" Cara interrupted her mum with a laugh. Cara didn't see her mom often so it even made me happy seeing them together.
"Mom, don't worry. Everything is sorted." She smiled, hugging her tight. My eyes quickly scanned my surroundings and I sighed sadly.
"Vicki, we have to go now..." Cara put her hand on my shoulder, making me jump a little. My dad said he would be here for my departure. He promised, I should have known better.
Dad always bailed on all of our important days. Ava's ballet recital. Kieron's huge football game.
"Okay then." I replied, whilst walking over to my mom to give her a goodbye hug. As I was walking, Ava, my younger sister, stumbled to me, tears rolling down her face. She was the most sensitive out of us all because she was the youngest.
"Stay safe. I love you Victoria. Don't let anyone hurt you or I will kill them." She whispered into my ear. I let out a little giggle and gave her a big hug.
Then I ran over to Kieron, my 16 year old brother. I hugged him tightly and he combed through my hair with his hands. Even though we mostly fought half the time we were together, I loved him so much. He was my little football star.
As I turned around to go, I see my dad standing tall in front of me. I slowly walk over to him, letting a couple tears slip. I hadn't seen Dad in three whole months and I have to admit, I'd missed him every second.
"Oh, Vic. You will always be my princess and I'll always be just a phone call away, wherever I am." I hugged him and he squeezed me tight, burying my head into his neck.
I started to walk over to my mom but then I was interrupted by an engine of a car. I rotated round on my heels and there was Cara's mom's car. I looked over to her and she had a wide grin on her face. She ran to the car happily and banged on the window, her mom getting out and swinging her round in a quick hug.
I slowly got my bags and put them in the trunk, getting ready to leave while Cara bid farewell to her mom.
"SHOTGUN!" I blurted out, out of nowhere, giggling like a kid. Who am I kidding? I am basically a kid.
Cara let out a loud and childish groan, as we opened the door of the Jeep to get in. Cara and I got in, her in the driver's seat and me in the passenger's seat, and waved goodbye to our parents. As we backed out of Cara's drive, she honked the horn and I stuck my hand out the window, waving frantically. We turn onto the actual road and drove down the street.
Suddenly, the Jeep came to a sudden halt and I gasped rapidly. Cara reversed the car and started to drive. Trust me, if looks could kill, I would have killed Cara just like that. She pushed harder on the accelerator. The car was practically going at full speed.
"Cara, stop, what's going on!?" I screamed, as she drove back to her front drive, jumped out the car, and then rushed past all our family. We all give each other confused glances, then a few seconds later, Cara came back out again with her bags and suitcase.
"You're kidding me, right?" I asked her, laughing slightly as she stepped back inside the car. Without another word, she started to drive like nothing happened.
All Cara did was turn to me and give me one of them 'You know me, I'm like that' smiles. I rolled my eyes with a laugh, put our spotify playlist on and stuck my legs out the window.
I knew from then on this was gonna be a great trip...
