shen yue x chen zheyuan drabbles

keep running

in which shen yue got eliminated in the game instead of bai lu, and therefore li chen and shen yue each got new partners.

the teams of li chen and zheng kai got merged, and now all four of them were competing against the rest of the cast to not quit filming earlier than the others. unfortunately their team lost the initial competition, and now the four of them had to play a game to determine who has to end filming early.

seated around the pirate game, they each took turns inserting a toy sword into the barrel. the tension was building up until the pirate finally popped out and landed right in front of shen yue, who also happened to be the one who inserted the sword right then.

"aaaahh no way!?" yue exclaimed. "i kinda knew it was going to be me though." she sighed.

before getting escorted out of the room, she nodded to li chen and said, "so long partner, win the next game for me!" the rest of the cast laughed with her, and then she left the room and was led to a car that was going to take her back to the hotel.

when she got back to the hotel, it was still early. she decided to order some room service before going to bed.

while eating she pulled out her phone and started to text her costar chen zheyuan. 

xs: heyy how's filming going?

it took a little while before an answer came.

xc: hey! it's going good actually, we're soon finished

xs: ahhh i'm filming keep running at the moment.
i got eliminated and had to stop filming early 😭

xc: hahahahaha
okay i'd love to keep talking but i have an early morning tomorrow, so i have to say good night now

xs: now???

she looked at the clock and saw that it was only 18:30. how early was his call time for him to go to sleep at this hour.

xs: oh okay. good night then >_<

xc: good night :) talk later

and then chen zheyuan put his phone down and got to bed. because he was not going to be filming a drama tomorrow, he was going to travel five hours to film a variety show with the very girl he was just texting. and not wanting to look tired and puffy before meeting her and the rest of the cast, he went to bed early. he could catch up on more sleep in the car too.

the next morning a knock sounded on shen yue's hotel door. a staff member was there to pick her up before the recording started. she noted that it was only her, none of the other cast members were there with them. as they walked down towards the lobby without picking up any other members, she finally asked:

"aren't the others going to join us?"

"no you're going early to meet up with your new partner." the staff member replied.

"new partner!? so i'm really separated from li chen?"

"ah yes. he's getting a new partner too. you'll be meeting her and your new partner at the same place you're going to be reunited with the rest of the cast."

"okay." she nodded and followed the staff member into the car that was picking her up. 

from the car window she could see water droplets hitting the glass as they made their way to the town.

she spotted another car next to where they parked, and assumed it had to be her new partners car.

stepping out, she was handed an umbrella. as she was being led to the building she was going to be waiting in, she made sure to acknowledge the fans who had been waiting since the early morning.
