New beginning | Chapter 1

Hey guys! Thank you sm for reading! It's a bit slow in the beginning but it's worth it trust me ;)

A new start... I think to myself as I'm admiring my brand new apartment.

I'm finally on my own. I shouldn't be making this as big as it is, I really didn't move too far. I'm just so excited to finally get a place on my own. I get to escape my family finally. And be myself.

I start unloading everything and organizing everything to the best of my ability. Trying to make it more me. I start getting this terrible headache but I'm almost finished.

"Finally.." I sigh and I plop down on the end of my bed. Worn out I also remembered that somehow I'm gonna have to get rent for this thing.

"Shit.... guess I gotta look for sumthin"

I just got outa college so I do have a degree but I don't think it's gonna help me around here. I made poor carrier choices... oh well at least it's something I like doing.

I also have to save up for a damn car.
Fuck man I got so much to do.
I guess being on my own is really hitting now.

I decided to make myself a snack and I guess look in the paper to see if there's any new job opportunities. I'm flipping though. Nothing that interesting. Boring politics and some other neighborhood news. Until I spot it "Help Wanted! Fredbares family diner. No experience necessary..."

Perfect.

I'm pretty sure I know where that place is. I think I saw it driving through here in the movers truck. Its a family place but it'll do for now. Plus I've heard they've got animatronics. Just my specialty.

I'll stop by Monday and see if I can get an interview. They seem desperate putting it in the paper so I think I got a chance. We'll see where this gets me...

*A few days later*

My alarm goes off blasting in my ear making me slam it and pushing it off my desk with a bang.

I groan many times as I push my feet up having them hit the cold floor. I yawn and stretch having to get ready for this interview now. If it even goes well.

I take a shower and put on a decently formal outfit and I make myself me quick toast.

As I put it in the toaster I lean up against the counter tracing my thumb across the edges and I zone off for alittle. Thinking about and hoping this new place is decent and if it's not what am I gonna do as a plain B.

I'm on my own now. Which is more peaceful in my case considering past circumstances but it is quite lonely. I'm on my own quite often so it shouldn't be anything new. I was hoping to make some friends at least.

Hoping that this job has some opportunities. Maybe even a... DING!

My toast popped out causing me to jump and I buttered it up quick. I fixed my hair real quick checking the time before walking out and making sure I'll have enough time to walk. Since I don't have a car...

*20 minutes later*

I made it to the center of town. I'm walking around a bit it's still early for alot of people to be out yet. As I'm walking a little more I see it.

"Fredbares Family Diner. Now hiring!!"

There seemed to be signs everywhere asking for help. It seems to be busy this morning so we'll see how it goes...

I walk across the partly busy parking lot and im making sure I'm ready giving myself alittle pep talk.

I take a deep breath and I open the restaurant door and I get a wiff of pizza and the sound of a joyful tune coming from the right of the building.

I turn to see two animal animatronics a yellow almost gold bear and a rabbit moving and performing for the kids.

Some kids are watching in awe of the precise movements of the robots.
I mean you could still tell they were robots but it was just amazing seeing how well they were put together.

Aside from me geeking out I walked around some more trying to find someone who worked there.

As I scan around the room I spot someone familiar. He looks a bit older now but he has ginger hair and glasses and a nice full grown beard. I look a bit closer realizing it was a friend I ment when I went to college Henry.

He must of felt me starring because he was talking to a family and turned to look in my direction.

"Y/N?!" He exclaimed as he scurried over to me

"Omg Henry I haven't seen you in ages!"

He graduated a year before me and I haven't seen him since. He's probably wondering why I just showed up out of nowhere.

"Yes! Oh my it's been so long!" He said with a chuckle "what brings you here to my fine establishment."

"Oh my God you own this place! Congratulations!" You said surprisingly
What a coincidence.

"Yep I got this place up and runnin with my buddy a few years ago. It's been booming ever since but it's started to get a little short staffed."

"That's actually why I'm here." You said

"Oh thats great Y/N! I'd love to have you on the team. Come on back to my office and I'll get you all set up"

"Oh wow thank you so much!"

"Of course anything for an old friend."
He said with a bright smile as he called me on to follow him with his hand.

I followed behind him slowly looking around at everything as I walked past.
Might as well look around the place since I'm gonna be working here soon.
That's so awesome it's a relief rent is covered.

The sent of pizza was still in the air making me hungry. It was around late morning and the pizzeria seemed to be filling up quick.

I looked around at the party tables in front of the stage and the checkerd floor.
My eyes seeming to be in a trance watching the animatronics move.

Specifically the rabbit.

There was something about that one that I was just drawn too. It must have been the little kid magic getting to me.

As we moved from the open area to the office and bathroom hallway in the back I remembered Henry said he founded this place with a partner.

As I remembered that, we passed an office with a yellow plate on the front door reading "William A."

That must be his friend. I thought.

Henry must have saw me looking because he explained that after I was done with the short interview that he would introduce me to this William A.
since I would be working with him after all. I mean I'd be working below him for right now starting off but.

I should probably get to know him.
