Delilah Evans was lost. Now, not in a deep way inside herself, but physically. As she turned the corner of the street and continued down another path she cursed under her breath as she once again stared down unfamiliar buildings.

She felt the frustration building up inside her as My Chemical Romance blared through her headphones into her ears. She was so distracted and annoyed as she continued on that she didn't notice the oncoming car with bright, white headlights shining in the darkening evening as she advanced across the the cracked concrete of the road.

The next thing she knew, she was grabbed by her waist and was sprawled on the grass on the path with a boy.

"Are you insane!" The stranger shouted at Delilah, his green eyes sparked with panic. He held down an arm and she gratefully took it and he hauled her up. She looked down the street and saw a car speed away down it. "I wasn't paying attention" She said brushing her pleated black school skirt down. He huffed. "Clearly".

"Look, I should have been paying attention". She pushed her long black hair out of her face, her blue eyes filled with sincerity. "Thanks for you know," Delilah gestured to the road. "Not letting me get squashed". He smiled tiredly. "That's alright". "I'm Todd" The boy with the brown hair and kind eyes said, holding out his hand for her to shake. "Delilah" She said, smiling and shook it.

She then remembered she was lost and frowned. He smirked. "That look would make milk go sour!" He laughed. She glared at him jokingly and he laughed. He threw his head back and laughed a deep belly laugh, showing his white teeth. Delilah noticed how his eyes sparkled and little crinkles formed around his eyes when he smiled. She shook her head mentally and came back down to Earth.

"So, what's up?" He inquired. "Hm?" She said, startled. He chuckled. "What's got you in a frazzled? "

"I got lost on the way home" She face-palmed, waiting for him to laugh. He furrowed his brows. "You what?" Then he laughed. "Hey!" She shouted, shoving him as he laughed. "It's not funny!" She said smiling. He straightened up and smiled. She smiled back and her phone buzzed violently in her pocket and she coughed awkwardly.

"Hello?" She inquired, without checking the caller ID before answering. "Hello Delilah" A voice called out from the other line. It was low and gravelly, clearly tampered with. "Em, who is this?" She asked, confused. "Oh, my love" The caller chuckled. Delilah abruptly took the phone from her ear as if she had been electrocuted.

Todd looked up in question. She shook her head at him and mouthed the word mom and his expression faded in answer to her clarification. She walked a bit farther away and brought the phone back up shakily.

"Who are you and how do you know my name?!" Delilah said trying to keep her voice steady and calm even though she as quite the opposite. "Oh my sweet Delilah" The voice which she had now identified as male. "You will never find me, until the timing is right".

"But I've already found you".
