That night as Delilah tried to sleep, she tossed and turned restlessly. That voice was burned into her mind and she heard it whisper every time she closed her eyes. She shivered and pulled her blankets closer to her against some invisible draught of that one stranger's voice. It was very peculiar and slightly terrifying to Delilah, how one person's actions could affect you.
On that train of thought, Delilah thought of that one green eyed boy. Todd. She smiled to herself, all scary thoughts immediately driven from her mind with a surprising ease. Delilah recalled his smiling eyes and how she walked away from them to stumble home, shaken. It took her a while to find her way back home but she made it alright.
As she slowly slipped into a peaceful slumber, she hoped she would see him again.
When Delilah awoke to her phone alarm, she yawned and stretched her arms above her head like a cat. She smiled and opened her curtains, expecting the lovely sunrise, but no. There was a note on the inside of the window!
She frowned and plucked the cold slip of paper up and her blood ran as cold as the paper itself.
"I know what you did."
As Delilah drove along to school in silence she still had chills. What did they know? Who were they? How did they get the note there?
These thoughts immersed her mind as she numbly got out of her car, locked it and turned only to harshly bang into a hard chest.
"Oh my Gosh, I'm so sorry!" She exclaimed, looking up to meet kind brown eyes. The boy flashed her a charming smile. "It's fine, don't worry about it" He said. "I'm Dylan" He introduced himself. He smiled again. She opened her mouth to speak-
Suddenly the familiar piercing drill of the school bell rung throughout of the school and she jumped. "Shit!" She exclaimed. "Sorry, I have to go!" She ran out of the lot and didn't look back.
"Wait! I didn't even get your-" His voice trailed off as she was already gone.
A blur of black hair and red ribbon.
"-name." He finished, sighing.
