Flowers trapped in the web

Chapter 13

Another sunny week had me in high spirits. The cat was out of the bag with the golden trio, Ned asked me a thousand different questions every time he saw me which I found quite amusing, and we kept MJ updated with the fact that it was out in the open.

I also completed my exhibition which took a weight off my shoulders, although I had plenty of support.

People bustled around the room, drinking cheap champagne as I stood next to my art, as most artists do. I was trying to figure out if any of the people in the room could be my dear friend Spiderman. No one had caught my eye so far; I had been trying to notice anyone looking over but so far nothing.

A few couples had walked by, but they were all past 30 and Spidey was definitely young.

"I thought there'd be people fighting to get to the front by now" I turned towards the voice to see Natasha and Steve in disguise admiring my little collection, immediately blushing.

"I didn't know you guys were coming"

"couldn't you tell we're huge art fans?" Natasha joked and Steve nudged her subtly.

"Spiderman told us about the exhibit, we thought we'd stop by. How is it going?" a smile lit up my face at Steve's words. So, he hadn't forgotten.

"eh about as well as I thought. It's just nice for it to be hung and done. Have you guys been here long?"

"about five minutes, is the champagne free?"

"yeah but it's kind of shit" I admitted, and Natasha grinned as Steve gave me a look to which I held my hands up at. "hey, it could've been a lot worse."

"are you even allowed to drink?"

"technically yes, but legally, maybe not" I sipped from my flute with a smirk as Natasha chuckled, patting the man's arm.

"it's different across the pond"

They stayed for a while, Steve and I got into a pretty deep conversation about modern art and how digital art works, they left with the promise that I would bring my iPad over soon and talk him through it.
